Home Madness

Today, it's been a week that I am home after surgery on 3/2/10.  It took me only a couple of days in bed to really begin to get home-madness.  I'm in the mental health field so I'll see what I can do about adding that to the DSM!  LOL!

My housekeeper was here last Friday and since then, I've REALLY kept the house neat and clean.  I'm so bored being home and not in the office that there is nothing really to do.  I don'****ch tv much (and definitely no soaps) so I've been cleaning.  I even found myself cleaning the decorative rocks inside my vases!  LOL!  Someone put a straight jacket on me!  I'm gonna have the cleanest house on the planet!  Good thing I return to the office on Monday.  I can't wait.

Someone slap me!  When I'm tired of work and *****y about my staff, someone PLEASE remind me about my home-madness!

Okay, Ruthie out.  Off to mop the house again.

LOL... sounds like you have gotten a nice dose of post op energy going on. glad you are feeling well!
Ya know, I could use a housekeeper right now, with recovering and all... lol.
maybe now would be a great time to find a good book or a crafting project to work on. That may help occupy you a bit while you await the return to work.

Don't over do yourself! Do something fun or nice for yourself... may as well try to enjoy a day or 2 before you are back at work and getting cranky with your staff! lol.

Put the mop down and step back! lol.

I took your advice and put the mop down and picked up my Kindle (gadget for reading books electronically).  Now, that I'm knee deep in the book I don't want to return to work just yet.  Ah well!

I'm actually not feeling too well.  I feel pressure on my side and I think it's gas but nothing I do gets rid of it.  I hope it's not a blood clot.  How do those feel?  Anybody?

I'd call the surgeon or his / her nurse if you are concerned. Usually a clot will throb or ache a bit and the location would move a little unless it is stuck. Sometimes, there are no noticable symptoms at all. Usually post op clots tend to move to the lungs.. Make sure you get in your little walks often to hep keep that circulation going smoothly and prevent clots.

I am guessing the pain you are feeling is where the muscles have been stretched way out to do the surgery, but of course, I am not your doc and have no way of knowing for sure.Maybe too you were over doing the cleaning and such.. it is early to be exerting yourself so much.  My theory is better safe than sorry... Make a call. Meanwhile, try a heat source on the area. Moist heat is best as it penetrates better.

I have a nook, which is Barnes and Nobles version of a kindle. I love it!  Glad you are enjoying something and taking it easy. You have ots of healing to do...
Hugs

You can come and clean my house if you'd like!  LOL!  The new med they put me on has really upped my motivation level so for the first time in a long time, my house isn't too bad.

I agree with you on watching the soap operas.  Law and Order, Ghost Hunters and Antiques Roadshow are about it for me.  The only thing I can do all day long and not get bored with or tired of is shopping.  Unfortunately, that requires money.

Kathy your comment about the checkbook and the credit card cracked me up. I used to have a T shirt that said, "Hurt me, whip me, make me write bad checks."!

Hi Colleen:
What medicine did they put you on and what is it for?  I'm intrigued.

Ruthie, put down the mop and pick up something fun to do for a bit.  If you still just have to clean, beam yourself over here.  I have dust bunnies that are reproducing right in front of my eyes, luck of having busy lives and a home.

Just call me initial dumb, DSM???
