Hello my new friends,    Yes it has been quite a journey to get here,  today I've just taken my liquid lax.  so hold on.    Don't know for sure what else is in there but I do what they say.....How long were all of you in the hospital ??   and did everyone have to give themselves shots when they get home ??  the shots  are prevention of blood clots.   Good to be on board.  Thanks  for responding.  Judy

Hi Judy, I needed to do a 3 week liquid diet pre op, no bowel prep.  I didn't need to do blood thinner shots, but do not miss needing to give myself insulin shots.  I did have blood thinner shots while in the hospital, the nurse gave them for me.  I had surgery late in the afternoon and spent 2 nights in the hospital.  Got to recovery room closer to bedtime due to delays in cases before mine.  I was up and walking by midnight after surgery and found myself gathering others for strolls around the surgery unit during the light of day.

Be sure to pack your lip balm and a pair of easy on slippers, I had a hard time reaching my feet to put on the hospital booties for the first couple of days.  Hugs

Welcome to you both! Glad to have you with us and I look forward to taveling your journey with you. Please do keep us posted on how surgery goes!

I had my surgery Monday am and was released thurs am. My surgeon wanted me there an extra day because I lived more than an hour from the hospital and he wanted to make sure everything was ok with me before sending me off.
