Update on my PS progress

Each day I feel a bit better. I am at the point now where the majority of discomfort I experience is from the abdominal muscles. VERY tender for sure. I had them tightened when I had my PS. It takes muscles longer to heal than other tissues, and I am very aware that they are still in need of much healing time..lol.

All sutures are out and all incision lines are intact and healing nicely. No signs of infection at all, and I do all I know to do, to keep it this way.

My boobs still get these pains that those who have had implants refer to as zingers... its like a strong sudden jolt of pain. This is due to regenration of the nerves. So while it is uncomfortable when it happens, it is a good thing to be happening.

When I left for MX my weight was at 165. I had been down to 161, but went up and couldn't get it to budge back down. When i got home from mexico I was about 170 due to swelling and fluid retention. Today, I a back down to 161! Yeayyyyyy!!!!!!!!!! I hope it keeps on a movin down for a while. My actual goal is 150, but in all honesty, I had come to a point where I decided my body was just happy where it was and was not going to budge any further. If I do not go down more, I am okay with this. If I do...I am thrilled with this.. lol

So thats whats up with me and my PS journey. Still have a little pooch just above my horizontal incision line. Hoping that will go away. Better than the excess skin tho..

Patrece,
So happy for you that things are going well. Will the zingers continue for a long time or gradually go away? I know you are happy that the weight went back down, hopefully the rest of the abdominal swelling will go away soon and you'll have that nice flat tummy you had the day after surgery! Keep taking good care of yourself and continue to heal.

I'm really glad to hear that you are on the mend, Patrece.  It's making me want to have PS done but I know I have a long way to go before I am ready for that.

so glad u are doing well. i still hurt in my abdominal area. not hurt exactly but aches.  so u are probably doing just right.   i still can't do sit ups. did your doc say anything to you about when u could do stuff like that again?  also, where do u go for aftercare? do u have to go all the way to mx?  i am so glad u are starting to feel good again. this is a tough surgery to get over, at least it was for me, and you had so much more done.  you are brave.  i'm still thinking about my breast and my face.  think i will wait until a year or so to see if i gain any weight.  is there anything else you are thinking about doing or are you where you are going to be.  it would be great not to have to wear a bra.  that is what i would like. course i don't wear one now most of the time. i  run around the house in my flannel gowns or my mumus.  love ya, vick

The only reason I'd need to go back to the doc in MX is if I were unhappy with the end result of something after 6 months and wanted it fixed. If I need any care for anything else, my pcp or surgeon will be there for me.

I have no clue when I can do something like a sit up, but just thinking of it right now makes me hurt..lol. I think it is around 4 to 6 months, and then only if I feel up to it. Right now, the only thing I am permitted to do is walking. He said after 6 weeks I can slowly and carefully start adding in whatever is comfortable for me. I have to say that I doubt it will be much else that soon. Even with the walking, I am moving a lot slower than normal. I am usually a power walker, and right now that just isn't happening!

The breast work is nice to have done for sure, and the idea of being able to wear a summer top without worrying about a bra is nice, but will be afraid to go braless too much. These babies cost too much to let em start sinking already! hehehe.

Don't know if I will do more PS later or not. At this point I am thinking not.. but one never knows I guess. Love ya too Vick!
