I posted this in my blog but wanted some feedback from people...when will I learn to stop asking my roomie for favors? I asked him last night if he would put some cream on my back because it was so dry and I could not reach it, the first thing he did when he touched my back was recoil...and say oh...you look like a famine victim, all bones...hardly any fat, and he pokes, there's bones here, bones there...I said, I look the same as the women you look at in your porn...he says oh no, they have meat on their bones...boney women are not in fashion any more...you look like a famine victim...and I said, I am in the middle of a normal BMI, he says, normal...no way...I am not going to ask him to do anything for me, I will just deal with the dry skin on my back...ugh

looks a little boney but not bad. if you like it and your doc is ok with it, that is all that is needed.  i am in a normal bmi also but my doc wants me to gain 14 pounds. i weigh 131 and am 5'6'. i wear a six, and sometimes it is loose.  my face needs some weight on it for sure.  under my arms i cannot shave because it is so concave.  i do need to gain some, but i'm afraid if i do i won't be able to quit.  does that thought ever cross your mind?  funny huh how fear keeps us from doing things we need to do. by the way, i eat constantly just like my doc said. i also eat things i shouldn't be eating, just trying to put on at leat 5 more pounds.  all this eating just makes me able to maintain the weight i have now. look at my neck, see how boney it is. is yours that way also?  vick

my doc actually wants me to gain some weight but like you...I am afraird to start gaining...LOL thanks sweetie...yep my neck is very boney now...I am a normal BMI also...as far as pasting pics in a post, it's easier to do it with two browsers open, you have to upload your pics here on OH or a photo hosting site like photobucket, once pics are uploaded, you right click the photo you want in the post, click copy, go to the post, right click in the post, click paste..and it should there...

Char... you DO NOT look like yu are in famine! Maybe he is one of those guys that is happier when he thinks if you are big no one will want you! You may not suffer from gaining a little, but that tends to happen anyway after everything stabilizes more.. usually at about 2 or 3 years out we bounce up about 5 to 10 lbs.

What I have to say on this, is if you feel ok with where you are, and you are not unhealthy, then blow it off! Don't let that roomie keep bringing you down..

BUt I think I'd rather hear I am too boney than that I am fat! I am HUGE boned, and far from what you or Vick weigh, but if you touch my rib cage area, you can feel each and every bone. I like knowing they are still there..lol.

Too bad you can't get a more positive and supportive roommate.  I hope somehow one day soon you can find the shut off switch that allows what he says and does to affect you.. It takes work, but can be done gal! I too would help ya out if I were close enough.

My husband is a sweety and a half. Even in severe pain including his shoulders and hands due to the accident, he will massage my shoulders and back, lotion me up any time I ask... I hope you find the same someday.. IF thats what you need / want.

Char, this room mate does not sound supportive. Please do take care of yourself. I understand oabout dry skin. Ask my hubby to put lotion on my back from time to time. The facial expression is similar to asking him to go to the dentist to have all his teeth pulled. I do get him to do this about once a month, I get a slather of lotion, not rubbed in and he runs to wash his hands asap when done. Just isn't what I had in mind.

There are products out there for applying lotion to one's own back. I haven't tried them yet. Do you have another friend who could help you out? If you lived closer, I could help once in a while. Beam me up Scotty.
