Hello, I'm new to this group. I am hoping interact you in order to help me on this journey. I am at the beginning stages. To be honest, I am scared.  I know that I need help. Right now, I am struggling to make a decision on whether to have the band or bypass.

My new journey starts now!!!!

 Welcome,
I'm not too far out myself.  I had bypass in December. I'm very happy with my decision. It is a big decision. I thought about it for a long time. In my heart I knew I needed help. It has been harder in some ways and easier in other ways than  I thought.  I've lost 46 pounds and feel so excited about this tool which has helped me re-think how and why I'm eating.
If I can help in any way please let me know. It is so normal to be afraid, just take one step at a time.
Blessings~
Annie

Welcome to our group. It is a big decision, so learn all you can about both procedures and pick what you feel will work best for you, and discuss it with your surgeon as well. Ask lots of questions here, you will get alot of insight.

I had RNY. At first I was going to do the band, but the more I researched the more i leaned to RNY. I do not regret it at all!

Fear is normal too, but the more you learn and interact with others who have had the surgeries, I think the less afraid you will be. At least thats how it was for me. Biggest thing is that youhave total faith and trust in your surgeon.

Hi and welcome. I second what Annie and Patrece said, especially about having total trust in your surgeon. Research, research, research and then pick the procedure that you feel will work best for you. Good luck and post often.

hi, my name is vick, welcome to the group.  what is your name, if you don't mind me asking. it helps to be able to communicate if i can place a name to somebody.  i was going to have the band also but my surgeon recommended the rny bypass for me. i had quite a bit to lose. let us know how we can help you. post often and let us get to know you well.  also, now you are part of the support system so you get to help others. sometimes people just need emotional support. hang in there and do your research. vick
