anesthesiologist (sp?) meeting today! -Long but insight full about me

My nerves are finally calming down, and I am getting more excited than scared about my surgery.  Even after reading all the posts (and giving advise ) I can 't believe how nervous and scared I became the moment I found out I was approved.

Now I keep thinking about all the good things that are going to happen to me.

No more knee pain(or at least reduced!)

having an easier time just moving around

feeling better in my own skin and not feeling like I'm suffocating in it anymore.

finally being able to be the me I see myself to be, not what other people see

but out of all of these, I would have to say "FREEDOM' is the best.. Freedom from fear of dying early (like my brother-he weighed 600+ when he passed at the age of 41), freedom from being in a wheelchair like my sister (wheelchair bound to do weight 400+).  These are my greatest fears and I will finally have the tool to help me be free from these.

What before seemed impossible for me to achieve has now been fully opened to me thanks to WLS.   Day 3 of liquid diet down.. only 11 more to go and 13 days until surgery.

I liked the way you described it as freedom.  It has been like being trapped inside this body.  I wish you all the best for surgery and hope that it is everything you are hoping for.

I am excited for you and so happy you have taken this step to keep yourself from ending up following in the footprints of your sibblings. Man how obesity hurts us, in so very many ways! Here's to an exciting and sometimes frustrating, but very worthwhile journey!

you describe it so well!! I can identify. I am having my surgery in 5 days (on 3/8). Yesterday was my pre-op labs and final dr. appt.. Everything is "go". Like you, my nervous have been everywhere! Now, the nerves are calming and the excitement is taking over! I know this is the best decision for me and for you! Keep us posted on your progress!
