well my grandkids spent the night last night. their mother asked if they could so she could go to her baby shower. this is bigggggggggg progress.  she had apologized to me about two weeks ago and i did the same, so this is a very fragile relationship i am talking about here.

my husband always feels bad.  he gets to sit in his chair and do nothing almost.  getting around makes him feel very sick.  i feel so bad for him.  the medicine they gave him hasn't worked. i was so hoping that it would stop the upset stomach.

i am planning on paying the bills today. gagggggggg!!!!  actually we are very fortunate for two people on disability.

so how are all you newbies doing?  how about the oldies?  lol are you all getting enough of what you need. exercise, rest, protein, fluids, bowel movements (very important).

i need to figure out an exercise plan, anybody have any tips?  what do u do if you have bad knees and have a limit on lifting and can't do sit ups?  i would love to get back into water exercise but the water is too cold (86) for  my arthritis.

hope u all have a great day. vick

Hi Vick!

I hope you have a great day with the grandkids and also that the relationship with your daughter becomes stronger as time goes on.

I would talk to your doctor about the exercise.  I haven't checked into it yet because I've been going to the gym but the physical therapy unit at the hospital where I had my surgery offers Tai Chi that is totally from a seated position.  Tai Chi is something that I have always wanted to learn and was learning from a tape many years ago.  But now with the vertigo I would have to take it from a seated position.

Hang in there, Vick.  Something will come along that you can do.

Good morning. Glad your relationship with DD is getting better. Hope you enjoy the grandkids today. I'm so sorry your husband is having such a hard time. It's hard to watch someone you love be in pain (physical or emotional) and not be able to make it better. Maybe the medicine will work when he's been on it a little longer.

As for how I'm doing - trying to stay hydrated! Some days I have no problem getting in my fluids, others it seems hard to get down a 20 oz bottle in a day. Yesterday I only got in about 1/2 my fluids and 2/3 of protein. I ate a little pureed chili from Wendys and stayed very nauseated afterwards for quite a while. Have been eating it with no problem. I think I may have eaten too fast, even with it being pureed. So anyway, trying to do better today. I go back to work tomorrow and am hoping to be able to stay on track with getting everything in. I don't want to get sick or have to go get IV fluids!

There are some good exercise videos for people who are chairbound if that would help with your knees. Some of the regular low impact videos might be helpful too of you look for the ones for seniors or that are aimed at people with limitations. My father and stepmom used to do those and use one of those big elastic bands.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend and hope everyone has a great week.

I'm very sorry about your husband. I hope the dctors will come up with something that will help him.

I can't do much in the exercise dept. as of yet, either, but I was lucky enough to be provided with a physiotherapy exercise machine last year, courtesy of my insurance. It's like a stationary bike except that I can seat in my whelchair and either use it passively or normally with various settings in-between. I have started using it again, not so much for weight loss but because I've had problems with my legs. It's very helpful.
Otherwise, I'm doing OK. I still have problems finding food that will sit well with me but I keep trying. Today I stuck mostly to cheese, which I know is OK, but I have evil plans for tomorrow! he he I plan to make some sweet potatoes to try along with some chicken or hamburger, we'll see.

Over 110 lbs lost!! (Finally!)
