That's it exactly isn't it? We want to wake up from surgery with the weight gone!!! Our brains know better than that but the emotional part of us wants that fat gone NOW. I have a long history of stalling on any kind of diet after every 10 or so lbs. Many times that would be the beginning of the end - I'd stall for 3 weeks or so and get so frustrated because I was doing everything right and the scale wouldn't budge. This time I can only keep going and try to be patient and listen to the intelligent voice in my head instead of the evil emotional voice trying to convince me that this is it - you won't lose any more than this! Kinda like that old cartoon with the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other, you know? We have to get rid of that little devil! LOL.
I have exactly the same experience Rhonda. When I got stuck for 3 days last wee****pt thinking, that's it, the fun is over. Then the scale moved and I breathed a sigh of relief. Now the scale has been stuck again for the third day and this time I'm even MORE worried because i started eating "normally" again (and have been incredibly hungry too!) and I feel "here we go again, gain time"!
I wonder if this is how it's going to go all the way? I don't think my nerves can take it!

I know Amalia, I don't think my nerves can handle it either, but I am afraid they will have to. For the last few years my weight loss has been that way - lose a few, stall, lose a few more, stall- and I told myself before surgery to be prepared for this weight loss to be the same way. I tell myself to just stay off the scale and only weigh once a week or every other week or something. But it is So hard to stay off, I want to see those numbers going down, down, down!
We'll get thru it somehow and before we know it we' be down where we want to be! Hang in there-

CONGRATULATIONS, Liz, Amalia, and Rhonda!! You all are doing so well. Just remember that few things move in perfectly straight lines, and neither will our journey to our healthiest self. There are always ups and downs...the trick is to just remember that we are the only ones who can make that line move in the right direction. I read something recently that said when it comes to weight loss, we need to remember that we can't be perfect...but if we can stick to our self-commitments and our new healthy habits 80% of the time, then we are doing pretty darn good and will, on average, move in the right direction. I liked that. It leaves some room to be human.
Best wishes to each of you!! And keep up the great work! :)
And Liz...hope all goes well with the ultra sound next week. Will keep you i my thoughts hoping that it is nothing serious.
