Bariatric Buddy
Good morning...
Not much going on with me today, still just trying to take it easy an get recovered. Getting a bit better each day. I think at this point the worst part is wearing these compression garments 24 / 7 Kinda makes a girl feel like a sausage being squished out of her casing! As time goes on the incisional areas are less tender, and the muscles are a bit more tender. Muscle takes much longer to heal than other body tissues.
The swelling goes up and down. Have some times that I am feeling "fat" due to the swelling. Other times I feel so much more slender.. strange thing this intermittant swelling. My drain I came home with is gradually decreasing in output, won't be long now and I can yank the sucker out! It can be a trick to try to conceal it when leaving the house, and not look like I have some kind of strange growth...lol. Sunday evening coming up will mark 3 weeks post op, and i can officially remove my remaining stitches, which is most all of them. I am looking forward to being stitch and drain free very soon.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

I am still unsure if I'll have the PS after I lose the weight. I have seen so many pictures, and so much of it looks so painful - and I am a HUGE wimp! That combined with the complications I just dealt with has me a bit gun shy when it comes to going under the knife again.
I do admire your courage. Congrats on the progress you've made, and hang in there with the compression garments, you know it's all to help you.
Glad to hear you're feeling well. Take care!

Will get some pics to ya very soon. Candice is here, will ave her help with taking pics. Just remember...lots of swelling still present especially in the abdominal area. This compression garment cuts in when ya sit and leaves the appearance of a couple of small rolls.. hate that! But I know it is from the pressure and swelling.
You quit working like a dog.. (where did that saying come from? Most dogs I know live the cushy good life!) But you kno what I mean!
