Can anyone suggest something like a chewable vitamin? gum? sugarless mint? that we are allowed to have? sugarless candy? I just do not know.....

BTW, went to GNC today just to see what is avaialble and found a few protein drinks on sale. Great opportunity to try a few different things and keep me distracted while the husband and children enjoyed other, not so healthy snacks.

Check with your surgeon on the gum issue, some do not want you using it, probably due to possible swallowing of gum and issues with your new pouch.  Use of sugarfree hard candy should be fine, just be aware that the sugar alcohol may upset your system, many of the sugar free candy's are sweetened with sorbitol, the label states that excess consumption may cause loose stools.  Sorbital is sometimes prescribed for constipation.

Good to check out the healthy things for yourself.  I use chewable adult centrum vitamins, there are also vitamins from bariatric advantage, building blocks, and several other options available out there.  Look for chewable calcium citrate for your calcium source.

Early out when I had the need to chew and was on liquids and soft foods, sugar free popsicles filled the need, I always keep a box in the freezer, still use them when I want to chew on something, much better for me than the carb I crave at the time.

There are many types of SF candy and mints out there and the selection is great compared to what it used to be.

My surgeon says no gum; which is a bummer because I LOVE bubble gum!  But that is one temptation I haven't given into yet because I am afraid of the consequences of swallowing it.
