Sunny Sunday

Just yesterday, I was looking forward to warmer weather and the ability to go for a long walk with the dogs.  Today, it got to 34 degrees and I decided to see how far we could get before any of us got cold.  We headed for the clearest sidewalks, ended up along the bike path by the lake and walked for 50 minutes, noted just over 7000 steps on the pedometer.  The critters were very damp, everywhere but the tops of their backs.  Dennis just laughed when we came into the house and he saw how soggy they were.

I feel so much better after getting all the fresh air.  Clears the mind, checked out the pigeons along the route.  Oscar and Gretta tried to chase any that were on the ground.  Leashes come in handy, never caught any pigeons.

Hope everyone else got some fresh air today as well.  Have a great rest of the day.  Hugs

You're braver than I am Kathy.  Pre-op I would have been out there but since the surgery I'm cold all the time.  I always said I was going to retire to Alaska because I'm not a fan of hot weather, but I'm rethinking that one.

I did get a little fresh air this morning in the form of going to the grocery store.  We are under a winter storm warning and wanted to get a few things in the house in case it gets real ugly.  They are predicting 5-8 inches.

Can't wait until the spring; I'm getting a new bicycle.  If the vertigo is still going strong it will be an adult tricycle, but either way, I'm getting a bike.

Cool Colleen, safety first.  I would do the bike, just like walking the dogs better, they would never keep up with a bide.  And I can not see myself driving them around in a bike basket.  Wiz ov Oz style, lol

I can take the 33 degrees, when the wind chill kicks up, I hang indoors.  Worked up a good sweat with today's weather.  Have fun picking out a bike/trike.

It was 64 here today, great after an unusally cold winter of 20's and 30's! It's been a beautiful weekend. I overdid it yesterday so have been trying to take it easy today. Did manage 15 minutes on the treadmill and plan to do the same again a little later. Wishing you all a great week coming up!

You are brave - my little chihuahuas would have died if I took them out in this weather.  It was about 36 in the San Bernardino Mountains (Calif) where I live.  My walk consisted of walking the market for food for the rest of the family.  It's currently snowing or trying to this late afternoon.

I tried water aerobics on Thursday and I think it was too much too soon.  I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomin so I quit after 30 minutes.  I think I'll stick to walking on the treadmill for a while until my surgery is completely healed.  Anybody know how long that takes?

I'm having trouble getting food down.  I tried trout and it tasted blah even with seasonings. I'm going to try dover sole tonight.  I'm not really a fish eater but that's what the doctor ordered. Anyone have any great receipes?  I need some flavor.

Remember I'm only one month out so it can't have too much in it.

thanks

My yorkie is 6.5 pounds and loved the walk, she was 3/4 soaked when we returned, puddle splashing.  This is the same dog that will not walk if it is raining, she might get wet.  Go figure.

I love fish, expecially if someone else does the cooking, wish I could prepare it in pleasing ways myself.  Try a splash of lemon juice, maybe some crushed garlic cloves or sliced onion on top of the filet before cooking, even if you can not eat the onion, adds a little something.  I have had good luck with the packages of imatation crab.  Warmed plain or chilled with a little mayo.  I have prepared the individually frozen and shrink wrapped talapia, just put one frozen filet (about 3-4 oz) on a plate, pierce the top of the plastic wrap with a fork and microwave 1 minute, let set for 1-2 minutes and it is done, have that with a little lemon and tarter sauce.  Stays moist due to the 'steam bag' made from the fork piercing.

I tried dover sole last night and loved it!  I pan fried it in pam with seasons - set well on my tummy.

My tea cup chihuahua only weighs 2 pounds 7 oz. the other one is 6 pounds.  We have snow and I was afraid thier feet would freeze cause they don't go outside.  I tried buying those booties for them but they hate them. Try to shake them off.  Oh well.

Going to the gym tonight.

I admire your tenacity.  I  would like to say I got a lot of fresh air but, only going from the house to the car and back into the house. It was 14 degrees here in CO today. I  hope for warmer days this week to get out and walk. Thanks for the encouragement.
Have a great week~
Blessings

I wouldn't have done the walk in 14 degrees, I wouldn't be able to bring the dogs, they are little.  And I am a whusss when it comes to being to cold.  Have a great week yourself Ann.  Hugs
