Finally Home
Hi all,
Finally made it home yesterday. I had surgery 2/9, then spent most of 2/10 vomiting and in some pretty nasty pain. Turns out I had a bowel obstruction, and had surgery again on 2/11 for that. On Monday I was being prepared for discharge, but I felt "off". It turns out I had an infection of the lower abdominal wall. So it was back in the hospital gown, more antibiotics, etc etc.
I've been really really tired, so excuse the shortness of this note. This is only the 2nd time I've been on the computer since I've been home, and the first time was business-related! But I just don't have it in me to say much more than hi. So, Hi. Will try to be on more in the next day or 2, I feel some questions brewing already now that I'm finally on the loser's bench!

So sorry to hear your difficulties, Darlene. Sounds like it's been tough - but you're back among us now and ready to go - it sounds! All the best from here on out!

Well,
I am praying for you and hopingg for great hing and quick healing. I just had the Lap-band surgery myself on 2/11 ( pretty close ) and am trying to get adjusted to my new life style. to be honest i really sucks. . . I try to stay focused on being health in the long run and it seems to help a bit. I am really glad there are others to share this time with. By the way, welcome to the losers bench (never thought of that how cleaver)

Darlene, so sorry that you had such a bad time! I'm glad that you are home and doing well now. Get lots of rest, it does get better! I feel almost normal again after 13 days, of course you may need more time with all the complications but it WILL get better. Hang in there and you are in my prayers.
Hugs,
Rhonda

Darlene,
So sorry it all started off for you in a rough beginning. But as was said above, glad it happened while you were still at the hospital, where you could be treated and helped right away! Undetected or late detected bowel obstructions can result in a nasty situation. (WLS or not).
Take it easy on yourself. rest, sip, walk, rest. Keeping you in my heart and prayers Darlene. Hoping you have an unevetful remainder of your recovery. (((HUGS)))
Joe...welcome to the group and the losers bench. Hang in there, it will get better if you can just work through the tough times you are having now.
