Just need a little advice

So this might be normal, but I have lost my appetite and every time I force myself to eat I gag. I am really trying to get my protein in and energy level up. I was doing so good and had no problems eating so I am just a little worried. Has this happened to anyone else? And how long did it take to over come it?

I just recently got the LAP Band and have not experienced the joy of eating real food again but have found that MUSCLE Milk and EAS AdvantEDGE are much easier to drink than most of the powdered proteins. They also have some different flavors than most of the others like cookies and crème, bananas, yum .  I just want to say stick in there . . . I am sending a big hug because I think that it helps. I will pray for you, hope it helps. . .

Time to call your surgeon and see if anything is wrong.  Keep trying to get in the protein.  Being dehydrated can make you feel draggy.  Do your best to get in the liquids, I was eating lots of sugar free popsicles at this time.  Call your doc.

Thanks Kathy! I did call my dr and waiting for him to call back now. About only thing I can tolerate is water so I think I am good on the hydration front. I decided to try some yogurt and so far its about the only thing that hasnt made me gag, but waiting to see if I get that yucky feeling afterwards. Not sure if the smell of the sweetness made it easier to eat, unlike everything else I have been eating. I just found it weird how all of a sudden foods I already tried is now making me sick. I will keep everyone posted.

Well my doctor finally called me back. He said it is normal to a certain point. If I cannot eat anything at all we have a problem. He said I should continue doing what I am doing by forcing myself, but not over doing it. Because I was able to eat the yogurt, he figures it is a smell thing and for me to just keep trying something new everyday and to go on a protein supplement until I can control the gag. If I continue to gag and am not able to eat anything for the next week, I am to go see him. Hopefully it stops, the yogurt was good and I didn't feel horrible after just tired.
