Just doing a quick introduction.  I'm Christine and I am at the first steps of this journey.  I just scheduled my first doctor's visit.  I am nervous about this process but I feel deep down this is the right thing for me.  I look forward to learning and hopefully sharing more as time passes.

Hello Christine, Welcome to this growing family.  We are here to hold your hand through the tough parts, support you through all phases of weight loss and do our best to share what we are learning as we take this weight loss adventure together.

Read many, many posts, ask questions of all sorts.  The only 'dumb' question is the one you do not ask.  Have a case of nerves at time to time along this process is normal.  Try to attend chat sessions on monday evenings, we deal with whatever topics and questions are going around in the room at the time.

I will try my best to attend chat.  I think the timing is off for me. I have 2 kids and I'm in school.  But I will double check again and if I can make it on Monday I will come :)

christine, you are in the right place and   i am so good that you choose us to be your support group.  ask away and post away. let us get to know you so we can help. even if u just want to say hi or say you are down, we can support u there also.  now, by the same token, you can help support others. especially when people just need moral support. you are valuable already. vick

it feels really good to have such wonderful feedback.  i am very nervous about this process.  i worry about the long term results.  i have a supportive husband and i have shared my plans with my sister.  aside from this community, no one knows what im going to do.  i often wonder if i am copping out or being lazy.  i am tired of waking up in pain from my back and feeling tired going up and down stairs.  i dont like feeling heavy.  it has hurt so much to have that reality 'hit me' me in the face.

ok, i am yammering...lol.  so i will stop.

Christine this is not a cop out or the easy way to weight loss.  Yes, the surgery is a wonderful tool, giving us the time to develop new, healthy eating and exercise habits.

The hardest part is the retraining we need to do with our minds.  Developing new strategies for dealing with whatever life stresses that we tuck away and console with food.

Losing weight helps our bodies move more easily, less painfully.   Come back and yammer any ol' time.  I am here to assist as needed.  Hugs
