Hiya everyone!
new to the group, thought I would intro myself.
Me and my hubby are in the process of getting WLS, I have completed all of my testing and my partner has 1 more test to go.
Now we are just going to have to see how long the insurance company wants to take!!
We have been together for almost 10 years and were both "normal weight" when we met, over the years due to genetics, back issues, medications, and Happy Weight we are both in danger of severe health problems. We are seeing Dr Moran in Raleigh and so far love his staff and are truly excited about our journey!

Its awesome to see what everyone has been posting, I have learned so much since I began reading through the site. Keep the stories, inspirations, and tips coming!!!

Have a great Valentines Day!!!
Keep a smile on your face....it makes people wonder what you are up to!

Welcome and good luck.  I hope your insurance will cover it.  I changed insurances over a year ago so I could get my insurance to cover it and I'm glad I did.  Keep us posted.k

I can relate to all of the reasons for the weight gain and the medical problems.  To encourage you, I no longer have high blood pressure or swelling and fluid retention in my legs, ankles and feet.  So that's good.

MaryBeth, Thanks!
our ins is pretty good, we meet the medical policy and all seems to be inorder, just waiting on the approval.
Its great to hear about the swelling and stuff in your legs going away, my hubby has really bad  edema and veanous deficieny so maybe it will help with that also!

Happy Valentines Day.  I am so glad that you found this group.  Invite your hubby to join as well.  Looking forward to getting to know both of you better.  I had my RNY about 5 months ago and my knees are singing the praises of weight loss.  Off my insulin for type II diabetes, still taking a much smaller dose of oral med to reduce blood sugar.  Not at all missing giving the shots in my abdomen, less bruising present now.

Do lots of reading and posting.  Let us know when you each get your surgery dates.

Welcome Marcee! Hope you and your husband get a date soon. Are you planning it for the same day, week, etc, or a few weeks apart? You'll have lots of empathy for each other for sure, with both of you experiencing all that goes along with the surgery. I'm 9 days out and have been surprised at how little actual pain I've had. Anyway, glad to have another NC member and look forward to getting to know more about you both!
