Hello Buddies!

Well Hello and good morning to all of my buddies! Also, a big welcome to all of our new buddies. I will likely never get caught up on back topics, but I know you all know you are in my thoughts and prayers always.

I am doing well, all things considered. This was a very long a major surgery for me. 9 Hours on the operating table, and lots of areas to heal up now. I ended up having an additional procedure that was not planned on initially. It was decided during the pre-op consult.

The first day after my plastic surgery, I woke up thinking "what the hell was I thinking???" lol Oh yes, I felt like death warmed over. Couldn't imagine that I'd ever feel anything but miserable ever again..lol. BUT this was just 10 hrs after the surgery, and all pain meds and anesthesia had worn off, leaving me feeling like roadkill..lol.

I awoke the next morning feeling like a miracle had taken place while i slept that night. (Thank God for the sleeping pills and pain meds that allowed me to sleep). Honestly.. I felt likke a totally different person than I had the previous day. Made huge improvements in pain level, and that general feeling of being roadkill was gone. Definately some pain still present, but I expected that fully. I was able to get up, walk a bit, get a shower with assistance, etc. Convinced the good doc to let me leave the clinic and go back to the hotel room Thursday morning.

From the time I left the clinic, I did not sleep the first two days / nights other than 3 hours all totalled. I was so restless, energized, insomnic, you name it. I was way way too active the first 2 days out of the clinic, and each day by days end, was acutely aware of this fact. Decided to slow myself down after that a bit. I had been going for several walks each day, but they were wayyyy too long.

Why is it I think i am invincible this soon after surgery??????? Duhh. So last evening Candice and I went to the plaza behind the hotel. Went to a little cafe. The seats were comfy, but not post plastic surgery friendly. When I turned the stool to get up, just as my behind was slowly leaving the seat, it swung back (spring loaded???) and smacked me right in an incision line on my hip area. SEARING BURNING pain engulfed me.. Thought I must have ripped myself open ... Thankfully did not, but man that smarted! Decided no more spring loaded chairs until I am recovered!

Well, I have rambled on and on and way too much. Will post more later, but for now, it is time to rest for a while and get in a different position. I have missed you all and lok forward to catching up on everyone's journey soon. I imagine it will be a while before I am back here on a regular basis, I still need to rest alot and am still not home. I head home Wed, and look forward to sleeping in my own bed!

Have an awesome day all! HUGS!

Well hi there Patrece.   It is great seeing you back on the board, it really was strange without your posts though Kathy and Vicki did a super job.   We all just missed you.   So glad that you are doing well and I pray for your continued recuperation.   Like you I am recuping and really struggling with finding the patiece that I need to be having right now.   For some strange reason, I figured things would be back to normal in no time and I would be back to my new life as I knew it.  lol.   That's what thought did for me.   I sure do get tired really fast and still seem to need my narcotic pain meds more than I would like.   I was suppose to go for my post op check up today however we are in the midst of another snow storm today so we opted to just reschedule since for the most part all is going well at this point.    I'm sure you will be thrilled to be home, I know i was and I was in the hospital just 6 days.   It was like a shot in the arm for me to have the grandbabies come and visit me when I got home, even though we had to be careful with the squeezes, hugs, kisses, etc.   Will catch you again soon and my prayers continue to be with you.  Hugs............Anna

Patrece, so good to hear from you. Yes, you are being a super woman and need to slow down,  You are like so many of us we are so use to being the rescuer instead of needing the rescue.

Kathy has done an awesome job keeping us all updated on the surgery and how you are doing.

You have had like you said (major surgery) roadkill. I actually hurt sitting here reading about the spring loaded chair. what the heck. Do you own stock in that resturant now?lol. But no laughing matter that was so serious and could have been so much worse too.

Take the pain meds don't try and be a super woman they are there to allow the body to repair, replenish and get strong and the rest is most important too. Cant rest if you and body is in pain.
Take time for you now thats the whole purpose of all of this we have done for ourselves its still all about us. Take time and be patient with you,. rest for the trip home. Prayers are with you for a healthy speedy recovery. Hugs (little gentle squeezes) lol. Mary Kaye
