33 day post op (4wks 5 days)
Well today went for my 4 weeks checkup. They say all looks good, everything is going well. the part that scares me is ..... they told me to start solids today. I have scared to eat solid foods, as i have tried chicken and it got stuck in my stomach and it hurt so bad, all i could do is lay on the sofa and cry until i brought it up. i am smart enough to know that i am not just gonna jump right in to a sandwich and that I need to take my time eating, and small portions at that.
I don't know what to start with. (As to what to eat) I am scared to try things, but they told me to start cutting back on protein shakes and EAT more protein.
on that note, I did make plans with the hubby for valentines now. We are going to stay home, but we decided to have a in house crab dinner, some snow crab legs and whatever he wants. just gotta check on my protein levels. and make sure i get enough in.
Hope everyone is well...
OH as of today i am 224 lbs. The weight loss has slowed down.

Melissa,
Great job so far. Remember to get at least 8 glasses of water and start excercising. Also remember to chew your food well. If you have chicken go for the dark meat. Also, watch re-heated foods, they get dried out. I had lots of chicked and fish (mostly salmon) in the beginning. Good luck to you!

I find seafood goes down easily with out getting stuck, for the most part. I agree with Kevin, dark meat chicken is less dry. Chicken is the protein that I have get stuck the most often. I am a fan of turkey chili with melted cheddar, cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, thinly sliced deli style meats. Take it easy, chew well. One meal at a time.

melissa, i like filet mignon medium rare. real moist and goes down easy and is very satisfying. also fish, shrimp, pork (if not overcooked). chicken is the one i have the most trouble with also. hang in there, you will get the hang of it. good luck to you. vick
