Endoscopic procedure
I'm almost done with my pre-op testing! The only thing I have left is the Endoscopic procedure. I'm a bit concerned about the procedure. Foolish me, I thought that the procedure was simple and done in his office. Needless to say, I found out that it's done in the hospital and they put me under. Holy crap!
Of course, compared to the actual VSG surgery, it should be a peice of cake, but I found that I am totally nervous. I had to arrange for my husband to be with me so that he can take me home afterwards. The doctor told me that I was not to drive myself. Crap!
The Gastrologist actually indicated that if he found 'bacteria' we would have to suspend the VSG until it was treated. Holy crap! I soooo don't want anything to interfere with my surgery date! 3/2/10 is two weeks away and I am so psyched!
So, I'm praying for:
NO polyps and
NO bacteria

Ruthie, they are taking all the precautions to make your surgery as smooth as possible. They will give you some wonderful medication to ease you through the procedure. Time will stand still and you will be done with the endoscopy before you know it. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you progress through this pre-op stage.
