Gas Question
Hi Lucy,
Yes, for me there is an increase in the gas, not enough that I wish I did not have the surgery. I do use the OTC pill to reduce the odor and even my hubby notices that the odor is resolved. It, the gas, seemed to last for a bit and now at 5 months out, so much better. I would have the surgery (RNY) in a heartbeat.
You should be getting answers from others too. I don't know how common the increased gas is, may also be related to types of food/fiber used. Read as much as you can.

yes i have more gas now but not as much as i had at first (i am over a year out). the gas i do have isn't real stinky now, thank heavens. i knew going in that this would be a problem, but my health was a risk and i didn't feel like i had a choice. good luck to you. vick
EXPERIENCE WITHOUT REFLECTION IS HOLLOW
I actually have not had the gas problem described here. It (burping and farting. to be specific) seems to be about the same as it always was. I am able to be "discreet".
