Hungry after surgery

Hello All,
I'm new to the group.  :)  I just had surgery on Feb. 3rd, Lap Band, and it went wonderfully.   So far my biggest issue is the I am always hungry.  I am getting 75 grams of protein a day, so I know I'm good there, but I am always wanting something to eat.  I have not indulged at all!!  and have kept to my liquid diet.
I was wondering has anyone else experienced this?  I really want to do well with this, I exercised for 30 minutes today and have an exercise plan in place from now on, I'm just worried about being constantly hungry, cause it will make me one very crabby lady.  LOL
Thanks all!

Hello and welcome to the group. I have to say that I did not have lap-band, but I found after my RNY surgery I had head hunger. I mean, all I was thinking about was food constantly...even in my dreams. Each morning for 2 weeks i would wake up craving the foods I had dreamed about and I must add that it was hard to not give in to temptation. The first 2 weeks was the hardest for me but stay focused and keep sticking to the Dr.'s rules and you will be fine.  Hopefully, someone who had lapband will respond as well.

Best of luck to you on your journey.

Hi Denver, I too had RNY but you will get your first fill in a few weeks and it may take a fill or two before you get the 'restriction' feeling.  In the meantime, follow your surgeon's plan.  Find an alternative to snacking.  So glad that you have a plan for exercise.  Starting the new, healthy habits that we need for our lifetime starts today, and if one falls off the wagon, so to speak, starts again now.

Drink extra fluids to keep your tummy full, sometimes I confuse thirst and hunger.  Take this one day at a time.  Your body is getting adjusted to the changes that are taking place.  Hugs, Kathy
