Snowed in ...

Have I told you how much I hate snow? LOL.. I look out the window to the driveway to see my brand new car covered in this crappy stuff, sure when I was a kid i loved snow, now as an adult I don't like it. Although, I kidnapped my 3 year old niece for the weekend, and she is loving every minute of this snow. It has been snowing since 5:30 last night, and they say it will go until 7pm or later tonight. So tomorrow will be fun, BUT I don't think I can go out and play, still at risk for a hernia, or so that's what the doctor told me about my exercising. gotta wait a few more weeks. So here I sit inside trying to walk around the little apartment, playing really easy wii games that don't take a lot of exercise.

On top of that, the hubby is getting a cold again, and Linda (my niece) is coughing up a storm, PLEASE PLEASE DON'T LET ME GET SICK... I go back to work after 6 long weeks off Monday night. I would love to have another 6 weeks off, BUT need to go back for the pay. ant afford both of us not working right now.

Well, off to find something in the house to do with the little one, maybe we will make some valentines day decorations.

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday

Snow, snow go away come back no other day.  I am ready for spring, green grass and the ability to walk outdoors.  I feel your distress Melissa.  Snow angels for the niece.  Enjoy all the energy she has.  Valentines decorations sounds like fun.  Go for it.  Hard to believe that Valentines is just around the corner.  Any great plans for Valentines anyone?

We are addicted to a steady paycheck and all that it affords us.  I too would like to work less, but an so very grateful that I have a job and won't complain.  Hugs

Melissa, I feel for you.  We only got about 5" here, and the sun has been shining for a couple of hours now.  My daughter has a friend who lives in Philly though, so I can only imagine what you're seeing!  Make some memories with the niece - then make some nice hot chicken soup to warm up and ward off those sniffles.  Good luck dealing with the snow - and good luck getting back to work!

Not to many plans here for Valentines day, I was hoping to at least go out for dinner sometime this weekend, but at this point I still can't eat anything but pureed foods, I hope when I go to the doctor Wednesday he will tell me i can try soft foods. Although not to sure what that entails. I was thinking maybe crab legs? As long as I chew chew chew, and take my time eating, I might make a nice crab diner for the hubby for valentines day. I will have to talk to the nut and the doctor see what his list has on it, see what I can do.

It kills me Saturday night is a fried oyster dinner, and I love fried oysters. YUMMY .. i keep telling myself in a few months I will be able to eat one or two (oysters that is, NOT MEALS), its ok for now to miss out on the dinner.

whats everyone got planned for Valentines day? Any ideas are helpful

melissa, you really want to be very careful about the hernia. i got one at about 3 months out from surgery and it was a pain in the keister.  soon, you will be eating regular stuff and enjoying it.  just hang in there, don't want to rush this.  my thoughts are with you. vick

Vickie, I don't know what a hernia is, but from the things I hear I don't want to know what it is like to have one. I am watching my step, and taking my time doing things. Anything to avoid the mess. Trying to explain to the little one I cant take her outside to play that she has to wait for uncle Jeff to take her out is hard. But got her mind occupied enough she is not missing being outside, for now. That and it is getting dark now, she and uncle Jeff can go play tomorrow in the snow.

On another note, it finally stopped snowing. Snowed for about 24 hours here. craziness! The hubby is outside now trying to dig us out. I'm just sitting in the house watching him and taking pictures.

We got lucky, the storm stayed south of us. My left last week to get out of the snow and headed south to Maryland/Virginia. I called him today and he has spent his day at my aunts shoveling his way out of 3 feet of snow. When he told me that I smiled and said well it's cold, but I can see my grass.

As for sick kids, both of mine have a nasty cold and I am also trying to steer clear of getting sick. Hope both us stay healthy and do not get sick. Hope you had a wonderful Saturday!!
