Super Saturday
I woke up this morning feeling funny, dizzy of sorts. Got up drank my fill of water and headed back to bed, hoping for better when I woke up again. I had been dreaming last night, not restful sleep. Getting glimpses that appeared like photos of parts of my past, nothing that became crystal clear, just out of focus, flashes of past. Dreamless sleep for the next 3 hours. whewwww. Much better now. Up and at em for the day. Started out with a cup of sugar free hot chocolate while deciding what protein to start the day with. I ended up with cheese and crackers (whole wheat) for breakfast.
Dennis and I went out to a steak house last evening. He got the prime rib special, his usual for Friday evening. I ordered jumbo shrimp and a take out box. The plate had enough food for 4-6 meals for myself. I felt much better starting to eat when I had boxed up all but 2 shrimp and some carrots. Overwhelming to look at all that food initially. The waitress said she understood. We had a nice meal, Dennis couldn't finish his large steak either. So leftovers for us today. Heated 2 of the shrimp up for lunch. Yummmm.
Today I accepted an extra call shift for the afternoon, in addition to my night shift. So glad I was on call last night and slept in my own bed. Planning a nap this afternoon, just in case I end up working 16 hours. Dennis is catching up with his computer chess games this afternoon, plans to watch "the game" tomorrow. I do believe their might be a football game of some sort on on Sunday, lol. Sorry for those that are die hard football fans. I have been working on sewing some quilts that will go for mission. Using scraps from my mom's stash. She was one of those fabric collectors who was going to go with the largest stash. She made much of our clothing when I and my siblings were in school. Still had some of the scraps from cutting out the patterns, I cut the scraps into squares, boxes of them and when I am in the mood, I open a box and start to sew squares. The batch I am working on right now are from corduroy. Remember the 70's? Yup, wales. I don't pay any attention to the way the wales lie and just sew squares together. The residents from nursing homes that have received the quilts say the residents love to feel the textures. And they wear well through many washings. I put flannel on the back of each quilt for cuddle factor. I have a 2ft square quilt that occupies the middle section of our sofa for my yorkie, she rearranges it and snuggles with it while watching TV with us. Amazing how much it collects from her feet and fur. It is in need of a good washing again.
Have a great day everyone. Guess I am done babbling for a while. Off to the basement for craft time again. Hugs
