Hey Vicki,    No no exercising, scuba diving or any of the above for this old woman for probably another 6 to 8 weeks at least.  Guess I got my wing and tail feathers niped for the time being anyway.   Tuesday morning I went to curves for my normal 90 minute workout and when I finished and came home I planned to do some painting in the house.   However,   the old lady started having a bit of a belly ache which started out to be just that a lil belly ache but turned out to be something biggggggg and the I ended up in emergency surgery tuesday e,vening.   I am being told that the surgery lasted a good 3 hours maybe more .   Aparantlly the port tubing for my lap band wrapped itself around my colon and I was one heck of a mess.   The pain was absolutely excrusiating.   They were able to detect this when they did the x rays at the hospital where I had my lapband surgery.   I am being told now that as soon as my bowels wake up and be accounted for I can go home.    Gosh I wish they would hurry up and wake up.  I hate being tied down to a hospital bed.  Well I guess I'm not really tied down as much as i was at least.  They finally took my stomach pump out yesteray and I was able to lose the catheter as well so the plumbing is half working anyway.     I have been out walking the halls with the hubby trying to get some kind of exercise in.   Sure would appreciate everyone keeping me in their prayers while I tackle this bump in the road.    Hope to be home soon but until then maybe I can stay intouch with you all since I have my laptop here in the room with me.   Take care, hugs...Anna

((((((Hugs Anna))))))))  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.  So glad that they found the problem and got you fixed up.  Do let those exercise feathers stay nipped until you are cleared.  Walking is it for the time being.  toot, tooot, wake up bowels.  Keep in touch with your laptop.  Here for you, I will do part of your exercise time each day, not the whole 90 minutes though.  Hugs

Hey Vicki, yea when they took me into surgery they were talking about removing the lapband entirely however they were able to avoid that and they just shortened the tube itself that went from the port inself to the band where they put the saline into it for adjustments.   I did have my first experience with a so called unfil as they removed the saline from the band that was put in there initially when my surgery was done back in May.  It was only like 1cc thats all but now i know how it feels.   Or maybe, I was in so much pain at that point where all i felt was pain anyway.   Yea I guess having the tail and wing feathers will be keeping me down for a while unfortunately, plus i know i am feeling pretty uncomfortable right now too.   They actually put me back on a clear liquid diet this morning and sent me for a x ray as still the bowels are not waking up with is a bit concerning to me but am trying to not get too depressed.   Guess i just want to go home like yesterday and it is hard for me to be tied down to the hospital bed like i said yesterday.  Hugs.............Anna  P/s.  Thanks to all for your support.

Another day, another dollar.  Napped until just a bit ago.  Had some yogurt, shared the empty container with Oscar, he carries them away to his "den" under the desk for final lick out of the container.  Have to get the broom out and evict some of his empties this weekend.  He takes containers away, never brings back the empties.

I will take your word on the protein quality of crow, pass no thanks do not need the recipe.  Headed out to a steak place with Dennis this evening.  He wants the prime rib, I am thinking shrimp sounds good.  You will have to mentally imagine the cross dressing, no pics lol.  Scuba, jup did that, of course the cpap mask does look like a snorkel.  I bury my head under the covers to block out the light of day and 'swim myself to sleep'.

Kathy, just went to the store and bought fat free Yoplait yogurt.  It has fruit in it though.  Is that ok to eat when you're only 17 days post op?  I've never eaten yogurt and thought I'd try it.

marybeth, if your doc has you on a special diet, i don't think large pieces of fruit would be good. run it thru a blender first.  also, seeds are bad for you this close to your surgery.  good luck to you. vick

Didn't even think about the seeds. Was concerned about the sugar causing dumping.  what is a good yogurt to use at this stage of the process?
