Welcome one and all. Post your thoughts, concerns, joys and anything in between. Great way to get the support you need and get to know fellow bariaitric buddy members. Let's support each other in our mission to get healthy. Chat is fun, lasts for about an hour on Monday evenings. Come and drop in for a few minutes of the whole hour. I am 5 months out from my surgery and getting to know my pouch and its likes and dislikes. Have a great week everyone. Hugs, Kathy

Hi All, I'm Carolyn, from NY, still in the pre-op stages of my journey. I found my surgeon, I've had my psycologicol evaluation (my friends said why go, we all know you are certifiable LOL), I've had my nutritional evaluation and I've just waiting for my insurance approval. We are shooting for the end of March, early April as a surgery date. I'm married, with three kids, two girls 11, and one boy, 15. I guess the best way to put it is, I'm tired of being on the side lines of life and I'm ready to be in the game. Please follow along in my blog. I'm looking forward to getting know everyone.
Welcome Carolyn, we are here to assist you as able. Looking forward to your comments and questions. Hugs

A great big "Hello" to the newbies! I am pre-op for a couple more days, I am scheduled for surgery this Tuesday. I'd like to say a couple of things, if you don't mind!
First, this OH site has a plethora of information. I learned SO MUCH about the WLS journey, from this site - what to do (or not), what to expect (and what NOT to expect!), and answers to questions I didn't even think to ask. This is really the site I used most BY FAR when I had questions (and the doctor's office was closed)!
Second, the message boards are also a great source of information. Seeing SO MANY people who have traveled this path before me makes me feel less alone, and less isolated. Read lots and lots of the posts, as you'll see people dealing with issues you may be facing. And usually there's great advice as to how best to handle such situations as well.
Finally, some of the message boards can be downright brutal - if you haven't seen or experienced that already. However, this group of men and women on the Bariatric Buddy forum are kind, thoughtful, and SO very knowledgeable! It's a great place to come hang out, share experiences, find support, and support one another. I'm a great example of that; my life has been pretty chaotic lately and I haven't been around much. Next thing you know, Kathy - or Vickie, or Patrece, or others, even! - SOMEONE is checking up on me to make sure everything is ok.
So welcome to one of the best WLS groups on the 'net - you won't be disappointed!
