Repeat Sleep Study

Looks like I have to go back for a 2nd sleep study and they said I will more than likely be coming home with a c-pap machine. I am a bit nervous about this and don't know if I can handle having something strapped on my face all night. Sometime in March I should be getting to resubmit my insurance claim or should I say my surgeon will. Anyways you all have a great day!

Stacy, I use a cpap machine, have for several years at this time and it has made a huge difference in my life.  I was getting better rest, and had more daytime energy within a few days of starting to wear the mask.  I wondered about wearing a mask too, hope to not need it with more weight loss.  But in the meantime, I wear it at night and during naps.  My pressure needs have gone way down since surgery.  Going to call for a repeat sleep study one of these days and see what the verdict is.    Hope your process for surgery goes smoothly.  Hugs, Kathy

i have quit using my cpap and that is stupid. i go monday to my lung doc and i want to do another sleep test at home.  it is realy convenient that way.  i'm hoping i won't need it anymore but i promised my husband that i will use it again if the doc says i need too. i also use 2.5 liter of oxygen at night, hoping i can do away with all of this. i will know tuesday morning.  good luck to you on your end. vick

I am glad i got mine because i felt so terrible in the mornings, like i could sleep all day. It has helped me with my sleeping so much.  I have one of the newest machines and mask and having it on doesn't bother me that much, like i thought it would. hope it helps you like it has helped me. best wishes to you .

I have one also for past two years.  At first it was difficult to get used to.  I have one where the mask is gel and soft on my face.  That helps alot.  After a while you will not even realize that it is on.  For two years I fought the idea of having to go to sleep study.  They let me go to sleep it seem like five minutes and then woke me up to put one on.  From that moment on I have had a c-pap on, I also have felt better rested.  When my Aunt passed away several months ago, I left home without it and could not believe the difference that having the machine makes.   However, I do hope that as the weight drops off and hopefully the asthma is relieved, that I will be able to sleep without it.  I now have a "dent" on my forehead.

Take care of yourself and I wish you the best of wishes!!
