Bariatric Buddy
Terrrrrrrific Thursday
Good Morning to all my buddies. I have a day of rest planned, just home from working night shift. Working on a honey do list for my hubby for the weekend. He is off till tuesday and I have a few things that I would like done. the list starts off with shovelling the ridge from the snowplow that now resides at the end of the sidewalk. I feel like I climb a mountain of snow, It is only about 8 inches high, but uneven and in a poorly lit area that feels treacherous when I am walking to work at 10.45 pm. Let's see if the ridge disappears in the next couple of days. Still enough of winter that I do not expect it to melt on its own for several weeks.
Looking for ideas for supper tonight. What do you have planned? Can I use your idea?

Good morning Kathy!
A day of rest sounds wonderful. I woke up at 5 and couldn't go back to sleep. I'm trying to decide if I should go back to bed for awhile and then to the gym or the gym first, hit the shower and than lay down for a while. I'm thinking gym first.
I cooked a beef tenderloin in the crockpot yesterday so it will be leftovers for the family today. It didn't really come out that good (stringy); there just isn't enough fat on them to cook them that way, but hubby insisted so I did it. I will have a late afternoon shake and something high protein for a snack this evening.
That's my day today. I hope you all have a good one!

Good morning Kathy. I'm only 16 days post op. I had the RNY so I'm not really cooking for me. I cook for my family which is hard smelling those good aromas. I have snow too - but I'm sure it's nothing like you. We got about 4 feet of snow in Lake Arrowhead, CA. I lost a huge tree to the storm. Thank God it crashed away from the house, instead of on top of it. We're expecting more snow late tomorrow. I wi**** were gone. I can't imagine living where you are. Too cold, too much snow, for too long. Usually, we get some and it melts off before the next storm - not this time. Too cold.
Are you looking for a healthy meal or just a meal?

Congrats on getting through surgery and being on the recovery road. I would like a healthy meal, my hubby is into carbs. Wish he would try to eat some fruits and veggies too. Snow is still here till probably early April.
I get tired of coming up with ideas for cooking from time to time. Today is one of those times. Dennis is off for the weekend, having him deal with the supper issue. Getting myself some rest before night shift again tonight. I got a look in the mirror, I need some sunshine, getting pale. Such is winter.
Glad the tree missed your house. Send some warm weather this way for a few days.

How about baking some cornish hens (clean inside and out, spary with spray butter, put whatever seasons you guys like on them and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Add Stove top stuffing (make on top of stove) and vegies or salad. hope that helps. My husband likes the carbs and the sauces and gravies too. I have other recipes but their not healthy for us. I make them for my husband and adopted child and then cook my own stuff (when I'm eating again).
Yummm, I haven't make cornish hens in a while, picking a couple up next time I am at the store. Thanks for the idea. I like to stuff them with part of an onion or apple, keeps them moist.

Sounds like everyone is in the same boat with the snow. I am soo ready for spring, although fall is my fav season. I got out some hamburger, Dennis is going to make a hamburgery helper meal for himself, I will grab a bite or two and supplement with cottage cheese.
