3 weeks post op
Well today i am 3 weeks post op. Sometimes I THINK I feel hungry, but still have not had that absolute must have food hunger. I am finally getting enough to drink, I LOVE frozen Gatorade G2. In my pre surgery class they told us no sports drinks, but when I told the doctor I was drinking that he gave me thumbs up and told me that is fine to do. I tried a protein drink the other day, Grape frost iso .... i don't know. One sip and I was done, no way, no thanks, not happening. My hubby tried it to see what my fuss was about and agreed and with in seconds dumped i all down the sink. I did pick up a strawberry powder to try. My mother in law sells herbal life and they have some shakes and flavor free protein to add to it, so I think I am going to try that, the doctor said its my money I can buy what ever protein Id like.
I do have a slit problem, I crave juices so bad. i was a big fan of Welch's grape juice and Apple Juice, will I ever be able to have anything of to sort again? And now McDonald's has the Shamrock shakes out, UGH my FAVORITE!!!!! Gonna have to get some sugar free mint ice cream (WHEN I CAN) and make myself a sugar free milkshake, I know I'm still a few weeks, to a month or 2 away from that.
Its hard to think in a week i go back to work, after being off for 6 weeks. Shew it has been nice to be off, but I do miss the people there, and the chance to get out of the house. I just wish it would stop snowing, I am ready for the spring, and summer. I don't know why but the last week all i have wanted to do is swim. I do have a membership to a gym with an indoor pool, but I cant swim or exercise right now, gotta wait a little longer.
I kinda got in trouble walking the other day, it is a very good trouble but still trouble. My husband has a tobacco addiction. So we went to Delaware where chewing tobacco is cheaper then Jersey. On the way home we decided to stop at a car dealership to get my walk in for the day, I feel in love with the Chevy HHR (2010 edition) so we decided to look at it, sadly he didn't fit in it, so we decided to go home. Well back in Jersey we stopped at another dealership for another walk, test drove a few cars for fun. Found a 2009 Chevy HHR Lt Special edition, that my husband fit in and feel in love with, SOOOOOO I got me a new car, was just a good deal. Just for doing good, just trying to get a few good walks in.
Ok I am just babbling on so I'm gonna go, got a few things to do tonight for the fire company meeting. Take care everyone, Good luck to those having surgery this we honestly it is not that bad, I still struggle each day, but am 100% sure id do it all over again.
EXPERIENCE WITHOUT REFLECTION IS HOLLOW
Take it easy as you ease back into work. I too enjoyed the time off, especially when I was feeling better, missed to co-workers. I would have the surgery again for the results that are happening. Have a great week Melissa. Hugs, Kathy

good job on the weight loss!! Looks like we started out at around the same weight- and have the same goal!!
I am still trying to get my liquids in (1 week post op) but as far as protein i know many people love Nectar by Syntrax (they sell online and at Vitamin Shoppe) I need to exchange the flavor i got yesterday for the fuzzy naval. i also wanted to try the isopure zero carb powder (it has 50 gm of protein)- but was reading somewhere that your body can only absorb at the most 20-35 grams of protein at one time?? I've also heard people like BodyFortress found at walmart- I still want to try that one.
Good Luck!!
