Back home at last!
so glad your home! i haven't had my vsg surgery yet , it is scheduled for Feb. the 18th . i have went for my consultation seminar and we went over post surgery diet and it was 1 oz of liquids every 20 minutes for 2wks after. you should contact your doctor maybe they have some advice or options for you to try. if you notice you may be starting to dehydrate ( dry mouth, dark urine) they say to switch to Gatorade for a while. hope this helps . God bless and keep us posted on your recovery.
YEAYYYYYYYY Amalia! Soooo happy to see your post! welcome home! Glad it didn't take 10 to 20 days in the hospital as your surgeon thought initially. I think your doc is going to be veryhappy with you, because i know you well enough now, that I know you are stubborn and will show him what for. Maybe it is not so much as he doesn't have faith in you, as he worries that with your challenges, it may be hard for you to do everything how he instructs? I know you are going to do great. If you find those sips every 4 minutes are leaving you feeling dry, why not have a bit of a sugar free popsicle now and then in between to help with the hydration?
Hope you get over your dizzy, queezy feeling very soon! Hang in there girl!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Oh Patrece, I only wish I could buy sugar free popsicles here! But your advice does give me an idea. I thought I would freeze some juice into ice cubes and suck on them every so often? It's going to take me a bit of time to get organized I'm afraid, my brain is not functioning at tip top performance right now. I am trying to follow doc's directions the best I can but the first 24 hours have been quite hard as I am plagued by hunger, thirst and pain. Surprisingly enough, I still didn't get through the entire daily plan yesterday - not enough hours in the day!
You'll get there my friend! It takes some major adjusting to get it all down.. but it will happen! Hang in there and know we care so very much!

HI, I'm glad to hear surgery went good for you. I had gastric bypass less a week ago and am learning new things every day the first few i thought i may have made a bad decision but as time goes on I'm feeling better. I know nothing about your type of surgery... You should check out the forum for people whom had the same surgery as you its under forums and then surgical forums So can I ask, are you still a non smoker??? I glad to say i am for now its the last thing on my mind, i'm still feeling a little crappy...
Good Luck
Good Luck
I'm ashamed to admit that I have been smoking again Tina. I was doing really well in that depatment until I got home, I had even quit the electronic cigarette, but I felt so deprived yesterday I had no will power whatsoever. I am a bit worried about it because one of the things I need to avoid is swallowing air and smoking doesn't help there but maybe in a few days I'll find the strength in me somewhere to get back to non-smoker status. Good luck to you too, these first days are a *****!
