Bariatric Buddy
Friday, tgif
Good Morning bariatric buddy members. I haven't started a morning thread in a few days. Top of the day to everyone. I got to sleep a straight 8 hours last night. What a difference. I woke up with a plan for the day and instantly felt tired again. Another 30 minutes and I actually got out of the bed. I must have been dreaming, ended up diagonally taking up the whole bed. Hubby was working night shift last night, no body to stop the shifting. Glad I didn't fall off his side of the bed. Brrrrrrr, cold floor, rude awakening. No thanks. The warm flannel sheets were so much better.
I woke up thinking of food, veggie jello of all things. Not even a good source of protein. I am going to make a small veggie salad today to have with my protein later. I mix any raw veggies I have (all chopped small) to some cooled jello. Makes for a crunch salad. Takes longer to chew, and filling too. Wow, a poet today. This is one of the foods Dennis won't even try. Then a lot of health things fall into that categories. I do my best.
Folded 2 baskets of laundry already today and discovered that the sock drawer needed cleaning, waaaaaay to many that don't have mates. What does happen to all the single socks? I have a bunch of singles looking for mates. Who wants to start a dating site for single stockings?
This is another brutal cold day, 5 degrees below zero and looks like the weekend will have more of the same. Good day to hole up at home and get things done. I hear the craft area calling to me, right next to the laundry area. Still one load left for today. Then caught up for the moment, until someone changes clothes again. Oscar and Gretta were outside for all of 10 seconds this am. They too agree to stay indoors.
Everyone have a great day. I intend to. Indoor activities for me today. Later on I will get out the list of surgeries for next week. Take a moment if you can to send those having surgery a word of encouragement. Hope to hear back from everyone after surgery, last week, last month, last year, or longer. Let's hear what the month of January has had in story for you. Stay healthy, stay warm, stay in touch. Hugs, Kathy

Kathy - sounds like a nice Friday for you. I started out early. Got in the car at a bit before 6:00, a bit below zero - to take Michael to his treatment. Then to work (where I am now). I'm totally trying to focus on protein today. I've had good losses recently, and want to keep that up. Carbs creep in to easily.
Your inside day sounds just right - some housework, some fun. That's how my weekend will be, too. I'd be happy to join the socks singles group, but will have to go along with Dennis in skipping the jello salad - that really doesn't appeal! Have fun - wish you were closer and could come to coffee tomorrow!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...

Thanks Mary, pass on my hello to the coffee group tomorrow.
Most of my single sock**** the round file today. Betting that the other half of the sock pairs will never see the light of day.
The jello is chilling, be ready in a few hours. Have to alternate that with great quality protein.

Good morning Kathy and all!
I'm just taking it easy today. I am not feeling well; nauseated and dizzy. I have a coupon for $60 worth of merchandise from the Viking Sewing Machine Center that I got when I bought the new machine but don't feel well enough to even go spend money.
So far, food has been good today. I have also been craving a salad and should probably be more diligent about working fruits and veggies into my diet. I am protein, then carbs then veggies and I know that isn't the way it's supposed to be. Diet V8 Splash helps and I can drink V8 juice if I heat it up like soup. I am going to try a new recipe this weekend, from the 5 day pouch test website and will let you know if it's any good.
Well I'm going to take some more pain meds, read a little and maybe take a nap. I hope you all have a great day.

Hi Colleen,
Warm V8, new thought. have to give that a try soon. Keep up the proteins, try the veggies before the carbs.
Enjoy spending on sewing supplies when you feel better. Hope the hobby is keeping you busy and out of mischief.

good friday, melady. hope you have a wonderbar day. i will be inside all day today myself. have to clean the mess i created in my kitchen yesterday. i just cooked and dumped the dish in the sink. my damn cat still hasn't come in. we got about 8 inches of snow and i bet he is stuck somewhere. i hope he is safe. i feel so guilty letting him out. he is an outdoor cat but whines to be let out. i just wanted him to see how cold and snowy it was and he would come right back in. well that was a major mistake. i need to go to work on a picture i am doing. maybe i will for a while. my dogs go down about 6 feet on our ramp and pee. good enough for me. have a wonderbar day. love ya. vick
