You are doing great on the waiting game.  Feel free to call insurance and or your surgeon's office this week to see if there is an answer.  Usually doesn't take toooo long for them to respond.  Glad to see that you posted.  Share your news as soon as you can.  I want to add you to my surgery list asap.  Take a deep breath and know that we are here to support you.  Hugs, Kathy

I waited 5 weeks before I found out. But my WLS group told me that my insurance Blue Cross takes 4 weeks to make a decision. So I knew the weight time. I was getting anxious too. I found out from my WLS group before I got the letter from my insurance company. Which I thought was really cool. Hang in there, it will all be down hill soon!

Good luck Gilda, hope you get approval and a date soon! I am blessed to have insurance that automatically approves patients once they have met all the requirements if they are using a "center of excellence" surgeon. (Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina, teachers/state employees.) i was still afraid that something would go wrong. During my research on WLS, I saw that many people recommended frequently checking with your insurance company to check on your approval. Also as others said, your surgeon's office often knows before you get notice from your insurance, so call them often too. I'm sure they are used to anxious patients bugging them, LOL.
