Ok here it goes.  The scales have been the same for 4 weeks now, I am going to shake things up.   I am starting the 5 day pouch test today.   I went yesterday and got the stuff  to make the Ham and cheese soup that is on the 5 day pouch test  site.   It really test good.  I know the first 2 days are going to be ruff, but i have to get the scales started back.
I have been doing the wii fit everyday.   Nothing budgges the scales.    Wish me luck.
Has everyone here ever done the 5- day pouch test?.

I have not done the 5DPT myself, but in the other group I belong to, there are those who swear by it.

Good luck and let us know how you do!

I may need to try the pouch test after Patrece's visit is over.  The scale just bounces up and down by the same couple pounds for the last couple of weeks.  I will check out the test in a few days.  Let me know what you think.

good luck on your pouch test. i have never done it, but i have heard of others who have.  how far out are you now?  our bodies start slowing down after about 6 months and then at about 1 year or 1 1/2 year it quits losing unless u diet.  i am afraid that once i get to 18 months i will start gaining. i eat so much now just trying to get my weight up a little and to even keep from losing.  maybe when i quit losing i might start gaining especially since i have now trained myself to eat so much (at doc's instructions).  oh well, we all have our own problems.  good luck on your diet. vick

Good luck to all of you trying the 5DPT. Just don't do it for toooo long, as it is not meeting your full nutrtional needs, from what I have read about it.

To lose the weight...we have to get into a state of Ketosis. Ketosis, is the fat burning state, and this is achieved by eliminating basically all carbs from your diet, avoiding almost all fat sources, and keeping your intake very strict. It takes about 3 days of doing this for your body to switch over into a state of ketosis. (You know you are in ketosis in 3 ways..scale starts moving...get a metallic tpe taste in your mouth...or you can buy ketone testing strips.)

I took a training through bariatric support center international. I am a certified back on track facilitator, and this is one of the components to it.

Matter of fact, I think when I go home,I am going to get to following it. I too have not had any scale movement ...in 5 weeks. The longest time ever. BUT i am sooo close to goal and a normnal BMI, so it is very normal to have to work very hard at this point to get loss.

Good luck all,,,, keep us posted!
