So i went and saw the Psychologist yesterday.  I have never seen one before but it was an interesting experience.  We chatted a bit, which was not bad.  I then had to take a questionnaire, it was like 400 questions and 55% related to drugs and suicide.  It was strange.  I do think i will continue to see him maybe once per month even after the weight loss begins.

They are just people, looking for our best interest.  Talking to see that we are prepared for the changes that we are getting ready for in our lives.  Good to have ongoing counselling for a bit.

I seen mine last month before i met with the surgery and didn't get much out of it. It seemed more like it was more red tape for the insurance company... but i do feel it may be beneficial to see one after surgery for a bit. Discussioning what changes are happening as i go through it for me, my feeling and my body changes plus i hear your hormones can go a little crazy.

Yep..hormones can go very crazy...often resulting in some depression, irritability, etc. Read the blog post on this.. interesting info.
I almost think it would be beneficial to all wls patients to continue seeing a therapist for a few months after the surgery. There are many changes to adjust to, and many mourn the loss of their best buddy...FOOD!
Good luck to you as you finsih going through the process!
