Well I have ordered some foods off line to see if they can help me with eating. I am over the six week mark but I still do a largely liquid diet cause it's hard to find something to eat that I like and taste good. I have been eating some foods from Bariatric food products so far it is easy to digest and small portions. I have noticed the sodium content is ver high I am asking my doctor about it althoug I don't have high blood pressure i just want to be safe and not get it. THe food does not taste salty but reading the label some have sodium at 830mg that is more that a chip bag.

Does anyone know of any good ones?

I find that I like the taste of home cooked things best.  Make your favorite protein dishes, portion them into smaller containers and freeze for later on.  This will make for easy meals when you do not feel like cooking.  I like to season foods to my own taste, using things other than salt.

At 6 weeks out, I ate lots of cottage cheese, refried beans with greek yogurt and salsa, string cheese along with my protein drinks.  An occassional egg, maybe, depended on the day. I found out that a finely chopped hardboiled egg with just a little mayo and mustard was a treat.

I too opt for food made at home or bought at the grocery store, prepared at home.
Unfortunately processed foods, no matter how healthy they try to say it is, is not really good for us. The sodium can cause us to retain fluids, thus reflecting in our weight readings, even if it does not cause us blood pressure problems, your body has to work hard to get that extra fluid out. lso processed foods are strippd of most nutrients, then after the processing, the nutrients are artifically added back in. Best to get naturally occuring nutrients in the foods we eat.

I ate a lot of yogurt and cottage cheese early out after my surgery, and scrambled or boiled egs. The refried beans with a bit of slasa mixed in then topped with shredded 2% cheddar. I use the fat free refried beans. Also I would make homemade chicken vegetable soup, cooking the chicken until it was about ready to fall to pieves, then I scooped out the soup "solids" and ate those. NO broth at this point as you do not want to waste your pouch space on this. You need to get the solids in, even if they are mushed.

Hope this helps.
