OT - Renal Lesion

Good Morning Everyone!  So today was supposed to be my big meeting with the surgeon to schedule my surgery - they call yesterday and canceled!  I'm still very upset, I was RIGHT THERE!  So they explained when they did my gallbladder ultrasound they seen a spot on my kidney, my regular Dr's nurse called me and said it looked like a renal lesion and I have to have a CT scan next week - C'mon people, no sense of urgency...  So now I wait another week just to have the scan to see if it's something bad, the surgeon won't even see me till I'm cleared which is very understandable, but now once and if I'm cleared it'll be another week or two before I see the surgeon and another week or two before surgery, so it just seems like it keeps getting pushed further away and I'm just down about it.  I'm also very nervous about having a spot on my kidney - I'm 24 - never had any health issues, of course it has to happen now.  I can't find a whole lot online about Renal Lesions so if anyone has experience or advice please let me know!  Thanks!

Offering support, hope it turns out to be nothing.  The surgeon just wants to be safe when it comes to doing the surgery.  You don't want any surprises to come up after surgery.  Just see it as another of the hoops we need to clear to get to the end result.  Let us know what you find out next week.  Hugs, Kathy

So sorry for the set-back and for the nervousness you must be going through over this. Please keep us posted as to what happens and what you find out about it. I am afraid I don't know about renal lesions, and I imagine it could be various things. I just don't know, but don't give up hope. Better of being delayed and making sure everything is safe for you to proceed with this, than to proceed and find out later the hard way, that you should not have. Hopefully everything will be just fine, and you will get in asap for your surgery.
I do know you have got to be very disappointed, but hang in there..ok? Keeping you in my heart and prayers!
