Hi buddies,
I had my surgery yesterday (at UCLA), and am still here in what can only be decribed as like a hotel suite, lol. I had the RNY, laproscopic and all is well. I have a small drain in which is bugging me. But, catheter is out, PCA off and am on 15mls sips every 15 mins and have had some sugar free popsicles and jello. And boy, it's true, I am FULL!!!!!!
I hope to be discharged tomorrow, thanks for all your support (and your message Kathy B.)
will post soon.
Bt the way, I weighed in at 224 yesterday and weigh 238 today with all the IV fluid, lol. Hope it goes away soon, my feet are like puff balls x x

So  glad you came through sugrey fine.  I knew you would.   I t will get better everyday.  Welcome to your new life as a loser.   Just rest and take care of yourself.    Sip sip sip, walk, walk, that will help with the gas.

Yes, the IV fluids add water weight.  That will resolve quickly.  Your body recognized that the oral liquids have slowed considerable and will try to retain any fluids it can find.  The better the oral hydration, the sooner the retained fluid issue will resolve.  Give if a few days.  Congrats on making it through to the losing side of surgery.  Sliding my hinder over to make room for you on this loxing bench.  I arrived home from the hospital 15# heavier than before surgery,  took about a week or so to resolve.  frustrating when you work so hard to lsoe wieght before surgery.  but not actual weight gain.  Glad to see you posting Becky.  Hugs, Kathy
