Today was a good day! - a little long

Well now that i am letting go of all the drama, today was a good day.  I met a true baruatric buddy, she sent me a msg, we exchanged numbers, then we talked for a while.  We are going to be a support system for each other.  She lives very close and it's nice to have a friend who understands what you are going through.

I have friends but none who are in weight loss so having her is a blessing.  Next i went to Sams club to get some items.  I don't get paid till Friday but i don't want to get off track by just eating anything, we got fruit, chili, yogurt, wheat buns and bread, light soups, water and all good stuff.  I did get a big tub of cheese balls for my dtr who indicated she should not be made to suffer just cuz i am eating differently-lol.

I'm not sure about everyone else but for me, keeping it out of sight and away helps me.  If it's not here i won't eat it.  I take my mom shopping with me as well, she a great support person. I did well on my eating today.  I was starving tonite and i said hey, have some fruit, so i did. I'm still hungry so i will drink water.  I just need to train my body to a new life style and new eating habits.

Finally, i made a great decision today.  My friend was supposed to go thru the process with me.  The more i talk to her, the more i can tell she is just not ready.  She told me to make sure i could come to her party for her b-day but then told me it's at HOME RUN INN!  I had to decline, i informed her i am not able to be in that type of environment right now, and it's not helpful to my changing life style.  I know i am not that strong yet (it's a work in progress) so i am going to continue working on it, but i feel i am headed down the right path.

Thanks for listening.

Shawn...Good for you! sounds like you are doing so well in preparing for this journey and making smart choices, and looking out for your own well being! It was very smart of you to tell your friend you were not going to be able to do well in that environment. I really hope she was supportive of this.
Also glad you found someone close by to travel with on this journey. It is very helpful to know there is someone *****ally "gets it".
Congrats on doing so awesome! keep up the great work!
