Good morning Buddies! I hope you all have a wonderful day today. I hope your efforts to meet your primary goal for 2010 is going great for you all as well. Be sure to share with us on that so we can help support you or congratulate you on your efforts!

Sooo.. yesterday Candice and I were unable to make it to the YMCA for the water aerobics. So we decided we would go to the Yoga class last evening. This is a class I have really been wanting to attend. I discovered 2 very good things to know about myself... First, my flexibility is next to non existant. Second, my name is not Grace...for a very good reason! hehehe

The stretches and reaches and such were really a hoot for me and those near me in the class. I really must try to silence the grunts and the "laughing at myself" during these classes. By the end of the class I was more flexible than when we started, but let me tell you all...I have a longggggg longgggggg way to go in building my flexibility! I felt like a week old soft pretzel gone stale! lol. When I should have been stretching and raching, thought I was gonna snap instead.

Then, I have to admit the back corner of the room, that I chose so I culd try to hide..ha ha.. sounded like a bowl of rice krispies! Snap crackle pop...again, all i could do was laugh at myself. Yes..it wasn't a bowl of rice krispies at all.. it was I who was snap crackle and popping...hmmmmm.
So then we were standing and doing the pose where you balance on one leg and rest the other leg on the inside of the one you are standing on. Yep.. don't call me grace! I did ok on the second side, but the first side.. I thought I was gonna get sea sick. I could not keep my balance for the lifeeeeeee of me. I think I noticed the lady next to me scoot away a foot or so. Think she was afraid I'd take her down with me when I went..lol. I didn't fall, but if I didn't know better, I would have sworn I was drunk. I was relieved a bit when we switched to the opposite leg. My balance was much better on that side for some reason.
I kept waiting to get kicked out of clas for being too distracting...Luckily the instructor was very understanding!

So.. there ya have it. My first attempt at Yoga.. I have decided that I need to work on my flexibility big time, aside from during the yoga classes, which I do hope to be able to attend a couple of times a week. Gonna have to invest in my own mat for it tho, as my behind wasn't too happy with the thin mat on the hard wood floor.Nor were my knees.

I found myself wondering many times about this yoga.. It is supposed to be done with smooth concentrated movements.. i'm thinking.. HOW? lol. Lets just say I have a long road ahead of me, in learning to even begin to look like there is anything snooth about me. BUT I was quite entertaining, and I was able to laugh at myself. It lifted my spirits that were low yesterday.

way to go, patrece.  that took courage and a good sense of humor.  i wish i could do that, but knees won't allow it.  you keep going, girl.  hang in there or hang out there.  you will overcome the snap, krackle and pops. love, vick

Thanks Vick. Yes it definately took both. I was suprised to have the sense of humor part too, as yesterday had been a pretty tough one. The yoga encounter actually lifted my spirits.

Gotta be able to laugh at ourselves now and then, otherwise we'd never take a chance on anything... and we'd be far too serious all the time..lol
love ya!
