Update on my progress with quitting smoking...
1) waking up...craved bad with my first cup of java
2) Paul insisted we take his car (even tho i have to drive) to church, we were already running late. It started very hard, took a while to get it to start and the longer it took the more stressed I got, cuz the later we were running. So I was frustrated.
3) Paul had a very rare moment of being snappy. first with brian our son, then with me when I confronted it. Bit my tongue but has a smoke.. (KICK KICK KICK)
I am now going to go take a nap and try to shake off some frustration so i can face the rst of the evening without a smoke. I really have to be stronger. I am doing so well comparatively..but want to NOT pick one up at all. I WILL not give up and tomorrow will be better, as will the rest of today. I'll check back in later and let you all know how my evening went.
I appreciate everyone helping me through this. at this moment, as i type in response to you all, it is keeping me from going out to the garage to smoke.. after I finish this message it is directly to my nap.
Hugs and many thanks to yu all! Stay with me, I need you all!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
I think you are working really hard to get where you want to be and you will make it there. It'sgreat that you were able to see that not having the patch on made a big difference in your cravings. When I quit, I had to go cold turkey. I never could have quit with the gradual withdrawal mehod. Everybody is different and I am glad the patch is helping you.
As for the Werther's SF candies- love, love, love them, they taste just like the real thing and come in a cute pack that looks like a cigerette pack, BUT they gave me TERRIBLE gas cramps and I had to give them up. They don't have that effect on everybody but they sure did on me!
We'll be praying for your success and we know you can do it! Look how far you have come with everything else in your life you've been dealing with. And you quit before and you will make it this time too!
Throw in a prayer for me, too. I'm trying to stick to my pre-op diet, it's required for 2 weeks before
surgery but I wanted to do it for the whole month. I've been doing well but slipped tonight with cheese potatoes that I foolishly cooked along with the beef roast I had in the oven. I'm not perfect either, LOL, but I'm happy that I'm doing as good as I have despite this slip and will try to do better tomorrow. I HAVE been having success with not drinking with meals and for 30 minutes after eating. So I'm very happy with how that part is going. We'll celebrate our successes and just keep working on the rest til we get it right!
Hugs,
Rhonda
Yep I am going to do it this time, and for good. I have my mind made up, and so it shall be!
Usually when i try to quit, if i slip up and have a cigarette, I just give up altogether right then and there. not doing it that way this time. I am allowing for myself to be human, and imperfect, but still giving myself credit for how vastly i am improving at breaking the habit and not giving up on it. Still determined to be cigarette free each day!
Good for you kicking in with the healthier habits now, instead of waiting until you have to. That is the mark of someone who is really preparing for success! I am so proud of your effort and good attitude. Just remember, in each moment we have the choice to begin again when we do slip. So make the most of each moment. Just do the next right thing as much as you can and you will be doing awesome! Just like when i had those 3 cigarettes today. That 27 less than what I used to smoke each day..
And with you each good choice you make is one less bad thing you are putting into you that you would have previously. GREAT JOB!!! I am here for you!

Yep mark.. he smokes in the garage. It really stinks in there too. One problem is I have to de-stink my durango.. Think i will clean it out tomorrow or Tues and then take it in to be detailed and all freshened up for me.
Good idea on the air freshner where paul smokes.. gonna do just that. And make him pop in a piece of gum o something before he can come near me.lol
