Thanks Patrece, I started to jot a note out here this morning and got sidtracked by other things here at home.  Nippy put there this am.  25 degrees below zero when I left work this morning.  I am so grateful for a co-worker who shared her warm ride home with me.  Her hubby came with a prewarmed ride for both of us.  The weather is supposed to be very cold for the next few days then improve.  Not sure it I want to go out again anytime soon, now all the way up to neg. 9 degrees.  whewwww, very fast dog duties outside for the pups this am.

Hoping that everyone is staying warm and dry today.  Enjoy the weekend.

Good morning Patrece. Hope your year is off to a great start too. Other than financial issues, mine is great, & I'm looking forward to having my surgery next month and starting my new life.

I've finally got time to continue reading the Beck Diet Solution you recommended and think it will help me to be able to deal with emotional/stress eating. I'm on my pre-op diet now and hoping to ease into eating similar to what post-op diet will be like (after the first 3 stages). I have done low carb before, once for more than a year and it became a habit til a death in my family knocked me off course. I found that when I didn't eat carbs, I didn't crave them. That was the only period in my life that I felt in control of my eating and it was great to feel that way. I am wondering about eating higher fat foods I was able to eat then, like regular cheese, mayo, etc. I've seen where some RNY'ers can eat them and others can't. When I was low carb, eating fats kept you full and satisfied. But I guess with our little pouches, THEY are our advantage and we don't need the higher fat to feel satisfied. I know everyone is different, & I'll discover for myself what works for me and helps me lose and then maintain my weight loss.

I'm excited and can't wait to be on the losers bench with you all. Looking at your sig. line and seeing the "109 lbs lost" is just such motivation!! And Kathy reaching over 100 lbs lost! All of you are doing so well and I can't wait to see what that feels like!!

Well, time to get off and get back to my chores. Lots to do before going to work Monday. I may not be on for a few days after Monday, because I'll be working 14-15 hours a day next week. Spring registration starts Tuesday and I'll be pretty wiped out every night!

Take care Buddies!

Hey Rhonda.. Glad you are getting prepared. Not sure who it was, but not I that recommended the Beck Diet Solution. I have not ever read that book. BUT if it is helpful to you thats great! Any tools that help are all the more benefit to us.

We do need to keep our fat intake low. many RNY patients dump from fat as well as the sugars. We are better to get our fullness from the protein and the fiber in foods we eat, such as veggies, when you get to where you can have them.

You will have your day when you are shouting to the group.."I hit 50 down!" " I hit 100 down~!" "I hit Onederland!" And i look forward to cheering you on!

Sorry Patrece, I was sure that was you. But I checked and it was Seaqueen35. Thanks Seaqueen!  It's a book that teaches you how NOT to sabotage your eating plan, whatever type of plan you may be on, even including WLS eating. I think it'll be  a big help for me. I'm only 1/4 of the way thru it but look forward to putting all the techniques into practice.

Have a great weekend everyone.
