Surgery Postponed :o(
Ok I am in emotional hell here. I am not sure how much more bull**** I can take. Ok here goes. My husband was laid off of work right after thanksgiving on November 30th. His boss ACTED like he felt so bad about and told him that he would keep him active into December so that he would be able to keep insurance through the holidays so I could have my surgery. He also told him that he would be getting all his PTO and a still be getting his Christmas Bonus. Right. So to make a long story short, I am in the middle of all my preop testing and what happens. He gets taken off of Inactive status and we lose insurance. NO SURGERY. I was devastated. Completely. I don't have to remind any of you all how desperate one feels when you know that you have done all that you can do to lose weight and nothing works. I am completely lost in a world of emotions. So what happens next? He does not get his bonus. What does that mean? No Christmas. I am okay with that to a degree, I have 3 granddaughters and well you can imagine. I am just done people. I did get some good news today though. They are offering us COBRA that is somewhat managable. I won't be able to afford it until the unemployment kicks in which could be 6 weeks and that may be too late because the deadline for the COBRA is Feb of next year. So I am hoping and praying things work out. I know they will, but I am just really down and out. We have never had it this bad and I am not sure how to deal with it all. The good news is that my surgeons office assured me that there will be no problem once I have COBRA as I am already approved for the surgery, just didn't have coverage. Sigh. Of all times for this to happen. NOW. This too shall pass.
(((((((Mori))))))))) Hugs for you honey. I am so sorry for the cir****tances you are facing. I do see that glimmer of light when COBRA starts. Let's focus on that glimmer and watch is brighten with each and every day that passes. Good news, you did the initial legwork, your surgeon will do the surgery once the paperwork is completed.
Use this time to know that you are strong, you are making great decisions to improve your health, you and a woman and we women are STRONG, determined and adaptable. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Kathy

Ohhhh Mori! Honey, my heart is so with you. I am so sorry for all of these challenges you and your husband are facing right now. Know that somehjow things always work out. We may not yet know how or even exactly when, but it will, I promise you. It may not even exactly be in the way we expect, but it will work out.
Have your husband get right on the unemployment details, the faster he does, the faster you get that and the corbra. Don't give up on this girl! It is a setback, NOT the end of hope. Focus on thinking positively, that it will all go smoothly and the cobra WILL kick in and everything will move forward.
I maks me very sad that you all did not get the bonus you were counting on, and will have no Christmas, as far as gift giving goes. Focus on family and love and the blessings you do have, like those 3 grandbabies. Embrace the love you and your family share. I know it is devastating for you, BUT remmber you have not lost all that is most important to you, and that is those you love...life...those things money can never provide to you or replace.
I will keep you and your Husband in my prayers, that unemployment comes through quickly, as does the COBRA. And that your surgery goes forward and your curent situation becomes a thing of the past quickly.
Love and hugs to you. I am so very sorry for all you are dealing with.

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
I am so, so sorry that this has happened to you. I know it is no comfort at this moment, but in my experience it's true that "everything happens for a reason" and that when one door closes another one opens. Hang in there and know that this is not the end, things WILL get better for you, and like everyone else said, count all the blessings that you DO have. Sometimes that is the only thing that gets me through the bad times when they come, because when I start counting I realize how very blessed I am. I'll be praying for you and your husband, that things will get better soon, that you have the strength to get through this, and that your surgery WILL happen! Take care and let us know how things are going, or just come here and vent when things are really tough.
