MERRY CHRISTMAS

Good Morning to all my buddies.  May this be a truly Blessed Christmas for everyone.  I am sitting here enjoying some Christmas music with Oscar and Gretta, and just being in the moment.  There will be festivities at relatives home this afternoon when everyone gets together.  In the meantime, it is a day for relaxation and reflection.  Take care of those you love, including yourselves.  Hugs, Kathy

Can I come to your house?  Oh, no.....wait, I can't even open my front door 2  inches due to a 3 ft high drift.  Bah Humbug. My DH is happy though, because Santa brought him a new snow blower.  I'm not sure it will make it through the drifts. Good thing the garage door goes up, so he can get the blower out and work his way to the front door.  They're calling for up to 18 inches before it's overwith. I dream of a white Christmas every year.  We got all of those year's worth of snow this year.  UGH.  I'll never dream of a white Christmas again.   I'm thinking Santa was not pleased when he had to visit Iowa.

But DH is fixing bacon and eggs for b'fast.  We have cookies, dips, broccoli salad, chili and a very expensive beef tenderloin ($13,99 a pound).  And no one to share them with.  The loin will go in the freezer, I will eat the broccoli salad for several days (DH doesn't like it) and well, maybe a few cookies and chips/dip.  I guess it's a good thing I haven't had WLS yet. My parents, brothers, nieces and nephews and "greats" are all in Illinois enjoying their day together.  And we (DH and I) are home alone and won't see any of our kids today. They can’t get to us and we can’t get to them.  Yep, having a pity party at my house.  Waaaa Waaaa.

But at least we didn't lose power....yet.
Then there's that bottle of wine I was going to share with company.  Maybe I'll drink it myself and wallow in self pity……right after I eat everything in sight.

Like I said....BAH HUMBUG!

But I hope everyone else has a wonderful day
. Wanda

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Wanda, just think of the exercise opportunities with all the snow to be rearranged.  Get out there and burn off some of that ol pity party and then come back in for warming up and some improvement in your spirit.  You are home safe, sound, your family likewise.  So many blessings, electricity, warmth, clean fresh (although a lot of it) snow.  Friends here at OH who care.

I just let the critters out to check the snow depth, not even up to Gretta's knees (yorkie) so maybe 1.5 to 2 inches so far.  More snow coming down.  Good excuse to be snowed in and play around with craft projects.  Dennis is at work til early afternoon then we will try to go to his parents for a bit.

I am not much of a singer, usually when driving and the windows are rolled up.  Enjoying singing along with the music this morning, no one to complain if I get a little off key.  I haven't heard 'let it snow' yet this morning.

Cheer up friend, things are going as planned by those who don't ask our permission.  Hugs, Kathy

Merry Christmas to you as well Kathy! Thank you for the loving wishes. Sounds like you have an awesome moring and early afternoon going for yourself.

Wanda, so sorry you will not be able to spend your day with the rest of your family, maybe you and hubby will really enjoy the day of being snowed in together. Maybe you and the family can get together for New years and celebrate Christmas and new Years together.

Don't smother all of your disappointment in food.. you will not be happy doing that. It will fix nothing, then you'll just feel worse that you feel back to food for comfort. Try to think of a fun project, crafting, reading, movies you've been wanting to watch, snuggling up with hubby.. whatever, and make the most of your day.  AND know your family here on Bariatric Buddy loves you and we have you in our hearts!

Thanks Kathy and Patrece.  It has been just a quiet day, watching some Christmas movies.  Spoke to my 3 year old granddaughter on the phone and the excitement in her voice was priceless.   We are blessed to have a healthy happy family.  But I sure would like to open that bottle of wine.  Only DH doesn't like it and I would only have 1 glass.  So guess I'll save it for another time.  LOL
