Monday musings

Well everyone, made it through the cold weekend.  How did you do on staying warm, exercising, getting in your fluids and supplements.

I did well.  Walked 60 minutes each day on the treadmill.  Got started reading "the Pawn" on my kindle.  The treadmill time just flies by, I even forget that there are others at the gym.  I don't even notice the changes in incline much when I am busy listening to a book.  Didn't spend much time out in the negative degree weather.  Dogs even got speedy with going outside to take care of business.  Liquids are getting pretty easy.  Taking my water bottle everywhere with me.  If I think I may be hungry, take a few sips first to see if that is what I really wanted.  Supplements are set up in my med planner for ease in remembering to take them.  Makes me feel older than I am when I use a med planner, nope, just more efficient for me.

I get a day off with my hubby today.  Starting the day with a trip to the gym for treadmill time.  I got in my strengthening on friday and sunday, just walking today.  Then probably a nap so I can be alert later for monday  chat session.  Then we plan to drive around town and check out the holiday lights on others homes/yards.

Have a great day everyone, checking back in a bit to see what everyone has on their minds.  Hugs, Kathy

Monday, Monday... can't trust that day.   Really.  I try not to hate Mondays, but I love my weekends so much!

Today started out with messy roads from the snow we got overnight.  The commute to work was about double.  But that's OK.  MIchael brought me to work, so I didn't have to walk in the parking lot and he wanted to use the car instead of his van today.  Works for me!

I'm getting in all my liquids and proteins and supplements, too, Kathy.  I have a pill box, too.  It helps to count them out for the day.  I take a thyroid pill first thing in the morning that I can't eat for half an hour and can't take vitamins or supplements for 4 hours - pain in the rear.

My weight is coming off - but it seems to be melting downward.  My face first, then upper body.  My bottom and legs aren't getting much smaller yet.  Odd.

Hope everyone has a good day.
Mary

Mary.. Thats the odd things about this surgery.. it does tend to start up top and work its way down.. but hang in there.. it will work its way down!

Kathy, Glad to hear you get the day off with your hubby! That will be a nice change for you. Enjoy the sights as you drive around to take them in, and have a good nap. We'll see you in group chat this evening!

Vick..So glad you are done with that doggone wound vac! As much as it was a pain..thank goodness it was available to you! Good luck on the rest of the healing process. I'm glad it is all almost behind you!

I hope you all have a great day, and look forward to seeing you in chat!

Hi guys and gals.  Made it through another Monday at work.  Like someone else mentioned, I really don't want to hold a grudge against one particular day of the week;  but Mondays are rough.  Yep, the weekend is over.  I also need to coordinate our weekly food sale at work, which can be a challenge not only in getting the people to work it and having the sales, but personally there's also the exposure to the sale items.  Today was sloppy joes, so not so bad.  I don't care much for them.  Nachos are tough though!  lol

I have been trying real hard on the activity thing.  I went to Curves on Thursday, and suffered only mild pain / discomfort.  Saturday was decent here, it was sunny and got in the low 40's so I took the dogs for a nice long walk - yay!  Unfortunately it triggered a MAJOR flare-up of the plantar fasciatis - boo!  I still hurt today!  So I don't know if exercising real good for a couple of days is a good idea if it makes me not want to move for a few more days.

Ugh, it's so frustrating, because I'm really hungry too, especially today!  I am logging everything and not doing too bad (I even logged my 3 Hershey kisses), but I really want to go to the doctor's office on 1/5/10 with a HUGE loss, it should be my last appt. before everything gets sent to insurance for approval.  My weight record for the last 5 months, while not ugly, isn't stellar either for many reasons.  I have no excuses now, so I need a good loss.

So I suppose I kinda have the Monday blues, but like Monday itself this too shall pass.

Kathy, I hope you enjoyed the day with the hubby.  You put in a lot of hours at work (and on here), you deserve the break!  I like the lights idea, I may drag my hubby out too!

Hi my weekend went very well as far as the fluids etc, however with the wet weather and having grandbabies here to keep gramma busy we kind of slacked off of the exercising.   Oh well, I did manage to get three days of 90 minute workouts in at curves last week so I guess that is not all bad.

I started my day out this morning bright and early at curves for another 90 minute workout which really felt good.   I have to say I miss it when I don't go for one reason or the other.   I guess that is a good thing or at least for me it is.   I had told my husband for the past three or four days that Monday was going to be walking day as it was suppose to be 50 degrees out and my old bones tend to deal not so well with the wet and cold weather so the walking is limited.   Well we each took one of our sleeve pekeinese that were spruced up last night by mom with a nice bath and promised a walk today also so they could strut their stuff.   We walked for a good 60 minutes this afternoon.  It was great.   We have a real pretty day here today and I am glad that we were able to take advantage of it.     I plan to hopefully finish decorating the tree etc. today and try not to forget chat tonight.   Hope you all had a super day.   Hugs....Anna
