Group leaders struggle too!

I am frustrated as can be with my weight. I got down to 161, my lowest. And wouldn't ya know it, now I keep beebopping up and down between 164 and 161. I get really upset when i am bouncing up to the 164. I always do this when I hit my stall out on my loss...(bounce around by 2 or 3 lbs) but wonder if I'll ever be able to not let it frustrate me. Its not the stall outs that get to me so much... its the bouncing back up and down and up and down that bothers me so much.

Okay.. I am done ranting now..  Just needed to vent and get this off my chest. I also think it is important for everyone to know that just because one is a support group leader, doesn't mean we don't struggle too.. we do, so we undertand deeply the struggles and frustrations of our members! This is a lot of what enables us to help others.. is having been through the struggles ourselves and working through them each time.

but as always I am gonna just hang in here, knowing I will bounce my way back down to the 161 and in a week or two will get below that.

I hear your struggle Patrece.  My scale bounces between 264 and 262, wish I were closer to your weight at this time.  Then I step back and look at the larger picture, in the last 10 months I am down 97 pounds.  Couldn't have done that on my own.  I walked around the store today, craving chocolate.  I ended up with a box of hair color for myself instead.  And some stickers that I will take to work for a project.

Instead of munching on the chocolate craving, I am eating a much healthier beef stew that my hubby made yesterday.  It is filling the hunger, the craving is passing.  If I still have the craving later, I will make a cup of sugar free hot chocolate.

Finding the break room hard at work again, treats keep appearing.  Last night there was a fruit basket, I did injoy a pear.  Have only had a couple of them since surgery.  Tolerated it great.

Hugs to you Patrece, and any others who are having struggles at thie time.  We are here to support each other.  That's what buddies are for.

Hey Patrece,   I understand what you are saying completely girl.   I've been doing this volley ball thing myself for about two months now.   You are doing great and you are so close to your goal.   It seems the closer we get the harder it gets doesn't it.   I know I am just too impatient myself at the present time.  lol.   Hey you are almost there though so keep your chin up.   I think my last twenty five lbs are going to make me go completely gray or bald.  lol.   Maybe both.     I think that you should get frustrated just as the  rest of us do, that is normal.   Being group leaders doesn't make you anyless emotional or human than the rest of us that are on this journey and we are all here to support eachother.   Give yourself a pat on the back as you are doing a wonderful job.   Hugs......Anna

Let me ask this:  How did you USED to volleyball?  For me, I fluctuated for a time between 280 and 290, before I broke the plateau and moved UP.

I know it can be frustrating, but keep trying, keep working it, and never lose sight of how far you've come.

OMG... you're... HUMAN????

Thanks for letting us know.  And hang in there!  We loves ya!  :)

patrece, sorry you are so frustrated.  my deal is just the opposite.  i have to stuff myself to try and gain weight.  my doc is really concerned about it.  i even eat some sweets. not much, but some.  i know that is a no no, but i am human.  do u ever eat sweets?  they don't make me dump or anything. about the only thing that bothers me, sometimes, is real dense meat like thick and dry pork or chicken.  in spite of eating like i do, i dropped another two pounds, now down to 132.6 lbs..  i still don't eat a lot at once but i eat several times a day.  good luck to you. love, vick

Thanks everyone for the support and encouragement.. YEP imagine that.. i am human too..lol
Up until the last few months, whenever I had a plateau, I never gained during it..just stayed the same.. other than maybe .2 or .4  but never by a pound or more. I am hoping it is just fluid retention.. otherwise, I feel like when I get to 160 I had to lose 4 lbs when I only had one pound to go..lol.  I go through this on and off, like I said the past few months. Usually I am ok with it, but I guess it is because I am so close to plastic surgery time.. i just wanna lose lose lose or at least stay the same. I am thinking after platic surgery I should be at or around goal weight, with the excess skin gone. BUT who knows...I am not sure how much my new boobs will weigh...
Better not weight too much or the man will be overdoing it! hehehehe.
Vick I'd love to give you this last 11 lbs. If it were possible.. I'd do it in a heartbeat, and we'd both be closer to where we need to be.

I wonder if I will end up losing weight after plastic surgery during my recovery period?? That would be cool too.. lol. I rarely ever have anything sweet. My occassional cheat is usually a bread type item, then it is almost always whole grain.

I really do need to get more water in and less coffee. Thats my BIG downfall...my coffee. And I do use a little sugar in that. Wi**** would make me dump, so I'd have to quit drinkming it or change to artificial sweetner, but no such luck.

Thanks again all for the understanding, humor and love. It is much appreciated.
Hugs!
Patrece

Patrece,

Have you tried altering your excercise routine?  Your body sometimes needs different routines to kick it back into losing mode.

Are you monitoring your carbs?  Lowering your carb intake might also help ya.

Thanks Kevin.. Good advice.. I watch my carbs like a hawk. I don't even induge in the mashed potatos that many do.  I know part of my problem is not getting in enough exercise. I love to walk , but has been sooooo terribly cold here. And I need to just get my Wii active hooked up and use that and get to curves a bit more often. Just has been very hard with everything on my plate lately. I am working on tryoing to get my schedule rearranged so I can get in more activity and get to curves more.

I am so close to goal, and the less you have to lose, the slower it goes. So, not getting in enough exercise is certainly not helping.. I have to stop letting others needs come before mine so often

Thanks again.. good reminder for me..
