Wondering why I am not losing weight

I am a little over three weeks post op and I was losing like 2 pounds a day but now I am not losing anymore wondering what is going on. I am on a soft food diet but mostly drink protien. When I do eat it is like a half of one egg or 2 to 3 oz portions. I work out three to four times a week. I am not sure why I am stalling so early. I am going to call my doc on Monday just wondering if this has happen to anyone else.

I am 5 weeks out and had a stall 3 weeks out that lasted a little while.  From what I have been told by others, a stall at three weeks is very normal.  One suggestion....don't weigh yourself every day at this stage.  If you are like me, doing so can lead to obsession and depression, if you know what I mean.  Just enjoy the ride!  Get to know your weight loss by how your body is feeling and how your clothes are hanging.  :)  Consider weighing yourself once a week...better yet, once a month!   Stalls are bound to happen, even this early out.  And if we are obsessed with the number, stalls will only lead to an emotional roller coaster.

Just my two cents worth!  I'd be curious to hear what others think about getting on the scale daily/weekly/monthly at this stage.  :)

Best wishes to you, Tarclamarie!!  :)

Thanks for that advice I think I will go with you on the monthly weight cause I can get obsessed and you pretty much know what follows.

Great two cents

Hey there! I hit my first stall out at only 11 days out and stayed stalled out for nearly 2 weeks. ...KNOW this is quite normal. There are so many changes going on with your body right now, it needs time to catch up and figure out what the heck is going on. You will hit times of stall outs on and off throughout your wls journey. It is just a normal part of the ride, but for the most part...it's all downhill (number wise) for a long time, leveling out here and there for a breather!
Don't let it get you down. Follow the dr's rules, and you'll do great! Honest!

Hi Tarcia, like the others posted, very, very common to have plateaus, keep up the fluids, increse your protein a bit and enjoy the ride.  Sounds like you are doing everything according to plan.  I too struggle with the slow loss some weeks, and agree that daily weighing on the scale just leads to disappointments.

Just do your best to follow the plan set out by your surgeon and the weight will disappear.  Take care.  Hugs, Kathy
