Does anyone know if there are any restrictions for pickles when you're on the full diet?

Thanks in advance.

Pickles don't really fall into the approved full liquid diet.  That is anything that is in liquid form, liquids that you can see through, plus dairy.  Includes soups, puddings, etc.  Though if you are having a real pickly craving, I have heard of people just sucking on the pickle and not chewing for the saltiness factor.

Are you thinking of having lots of pickles during your full liquid stage?  I would run this question past your nutritionalist during one of your visits to see what they suggest too.

After surgery, we need to focus on getting in proteins and fluids.  I will admit to pureeing my jar of salsa during the pureed stage and having it with my refried beans.  Whatever is needed to make things pallatable.

When you say full diet, do you mean full liquids, or do you mean once you are on solid foods? Once on solids pickles are good to go. During the liquid phase, and part of it, you can have pickle juice. It is actually very useful in stopping nausea for early post-ops. Just have to refrain from eating them until on solids, unless of course you want to puree a pickle well, with lots of juice or water, to liquify it.
You are welcome! Hope this helps!

I am almost 4 months post-op and my dr will allow me to have Dill pickles or Sugar-Free Sweet pickles made with SPLENDA.

He said no way on the regular sweet pickles!

HTH and enjoy the pickles!
