I found a bra ! ! !

Now to start things off, I detest bra shopping...... but the girls are hanging and the old bras are nearing shreads.  I put this off a long as I could.  Spent over an hour trying on a variety of bras today.  Never thought it would take as many styles and sizes to find the right fit.  I knew the old ones were too big, besides being stretched out from all the washings.

Most of the ones in my sizes just did not offer enough support, and the $$$$$ for the good ones.  I finally found a 40D using a bra extender that was comfortable and supportive.  I used the extender to be able to buy a size smaller band than I needed, I can shrink it by going in on the hooks until the bra fits without the extender.  Got this tip from another OH member, months ago.  Good way to make the investment last a little longer.  I used to be a 44DD.  The D was just a tad to large, the C cup way too small, I had muffin top of the bra with that one, nasty look if I do say so myself.

When I finaly decided on a size and sytle that fit, bought 2, one to wear, one to wash.  This should get me through the next few weeks.  Look out girls, proper support is at hand again. lol

Thought of you Vick, and your stories of your saggy girls.  lol

Funny because about 2 hours ago I was just thinking that I need to go bra shopping, mine are way too big and consequently the ladies look saggy.  I'll probably have to go do this next week...

I am to the point I just grab a couple when need be, and do not get too fussy cuz none of them ever ever fit right. I plan to fix this with my PS too... lol. I can't wait to fill out a shirt a bit better in the chest as opposed to the gut area! lol. My little girls are pouting for sure, and need a perk me upper. Then.. i'll worry about finding the "right" bra's!

Congrats Kathy...  I know just how you feel.  I hate bra shopping too.  And the prices for a good bra!  What a bummer.

My sister can scoop one up at Walmart and not even try it on.  I gotta go to the big department stores and it takes about 30 minutes.... YUCK!  I used to buy 3 good ones at income tax time to last me the year.  I'd spend at least $125.00 for all (if I found a good sale).

I'll be happy to see the day I can "scoop" one up at Walmart without trying it on.

I am so glad someone at support group gave the hint to buy 1 size smaller band that you need and use a bra extender till it fits well.  I will get more wear out of the garment this way.   They are spendy.  I can't just buy one off the shelf, took over an hour of trying different ones to get the 'fit'.  Maybe ... someday when I am closer to goal, I will be able to just pick one up.  Right now I do what I have to.

Thank you for passing along the smaller size tip, I was wondering about that.

I love, Love, LOVE, the bras at Lane Bryant. Cacique  http://www.lanebryant.com/cacique/4043/index.cat

Go in they will measure you up, and walla... the are great, wash well, padded to help with the unevenness, very supportive, and even have a wireless, that my gf swears by.

FYI: Don't bother with the low cut ones, they will just make you choke on the girls.  Look great in the store, but you can not wear them for more than an hour or two. Though hubby appreciates them.

10 lbs of this weight was lost prior to surgery

Congrats Kathy.
here is a funny story kind of opposite to yours.  While I am a large person, my boobs are small.  I often don't wear a bra.  it is always difficult to find one because I am probably an A cup but a 48.  Not many of them around.
anyway...had a christmas party with my peers from work last week and they have not seen me since surgery.  I have lost some weight mostly in my upper body and face.  The first thing one of my peers said to me was "you look good but we need to get you some boobs"

Keep the faith

I can so relate. Everything on me is big but my girls. SO when I have PS I am adopting some new girls that are a little larger. I have always had issues finding the right bras to fit. Fashion Bug and Lane Bryant are the only places I found that can acomadate. I jus****ch for their bra sales.
