Bariatric Buddy
Introduction
Greetings all,
I am a newbie to this group and to ObesityHelp in general.
I had my RNY October 12th by Dr. Alexander Abkin at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
I am doign well so far. I only had 3 instances of food wanting out of my stomach.
I am walking every day 45 minutes, more on the weekends.
I was 372 before the surgery and went on Nutrisystem to lose weight prior to the surgery. I was 349 on my surgery day and today I am 296.
My boss just today gave me his old BowFlex. Now I can start my strength training exercises.
Well - Hello to everyone.
Kevin

Welcome to the bariatric buddy group Kevin. Great job getting started with the weight loss. Starting with a bowflex will help with srtengthening. Come back often to check what everyone is talking about and to share your thoughts, joys, concerns and support of others. Keep following your surgeon's plan. Sounds like your loss is going well. Do you notice any big differences since surgery? I know my knees are a whole lot happier since I started losing weight.

Welcome kevin! Sorry I am so late in welcoming you, but have been away all day helping my daughter get packed for her move tomorrow morning. Sounds like you are doing awesome with the weight loss. Congratulations! It'll just keep getting better and better!
I am one year 4 1/2 months out from surgery. I was 270 the day of surgery wearing a womens size 24 that was reallyyyy snug. I am now down to 161, and in a comfy womens size 10. Only 7 lbs to go to be at a normal BMI, and 11 to go to hit my weight goal. I am still losing, but much slower than earlier on. I will prevail! And so shall you!
Glad to have you here! Look forward to sharing in your journey with you!
