Kristy my sister had surgery yesterday, she is not doing well today. She is terribly dizzy and is vomiting all day. Doctors trying to control both. They stop pain meds and still not helping. did anyone else go through this. Let me know if this is normal.

It isn't uncommon, especially the vomitting. Both my be from the pain meds. It will take a while for them to get out of her system. My daughter vomitted alot the first several days after surgery. I had lots of nausea but it was very occassional that I vomitted.

Dizziness could be meds.. How is her blood pressure? I suggest you call and talk to the nurse on duty caring for your sister (if possible) and ask questions there. It may serve to ease your mind considerably.

Keeping her and you in my prayers!

I'm sorry to hear that your sister isn't feeling well.  The day after my surgery I felt terrific and the following day I thought I was going to die.  I didn't actually vomit, but I was very nauseated and extremely dizzy.

I'm sure she'll be fine; I'll keep you both in my prayers.

Sherry I'm so sorry that Kristy is having such a rough time. In some of my research I've seen people talk about having that kind of reaction from the anesthesia and that it can take a couple of days to leave your system. That or pain meds or whatever it is, we hope and pray that it will pass soon. Let her know we're all thinking of her and try not to worry too much. Keep us posted on how things go.

Hugs,
Rhonda
