I'm back

Wow, slept 8 solid hours and feel like a brand new person.  I missed out on all of the sunshine today.  Guess I will spend some time near my light bulbs that simulate sun after I eat something.

I woke up dreaming that I was being trapped underground by a group of weird looking snakes.  I don't know how they got me into that trap, the openings were specifically shaped for them and I did not fit out.  Any dream interpreters out there?  Even though I was trapped in the dream, I was not scared, felt like I was watching this, like a movie, instead of actually being in the trap.

Hard to believe that is is Saturday already.  The week is unusual with the holiday and the 4 day weekend.  I am still recalling all the things that I am thankful for.  The list is super long.  How did you do surviving the Thanksgiving holiday?  I think I did well, enjoyed a meal out with family, the food was not the main focus, we talked of many things.  I enjoyed my father-in-law's antics.  He was flirting with the waitress and she was answerring his questions well.  (He has had a brain injury in the past and my mother-in-law deals with him so well).  I talked to my dad on the phone on Thanksgiving, he is doing well, coming to visit in the next couple of weeks.  Talked to a dear friend who was having a difficult time, miss her so much.  I am so very thankful that I had my RNY and the weight is slowly falling off.

Have a great rest of the weekend everyone.  Hugs, Kathy

Hey Lady! Great to see you back... not many around here this weekend.
Weird dream! I haven't a clue! I had a terrible dream yesterday during my nap. So didn't get much rest out of that one!

Hey Kathy.. do you have the list of upcoming surgeries to post for our group? I know lucybaretto is having her surgery on MONDAY! She is very excited and asking to be remembered in prayer and positive thoughts.

Tell Dad Hi for me!
Hugs!

Sleep, seems like I just can't get enough of it since surgery. I can't start my iron until 4 weeks which will be Thursday. I get my Vit B12 daily, but maybe I need a B12 shot. Does everyone go through this or is it just me?

Hi Naomi, I too slept a lot after surgery.  Also suffered from night time insomnia at one point.  Your body is telling you what it needs.  Just get in your fluids and protein as able inbetween the napping.  Hugs, Kathy

Thanks for the heads up. I have been paying attention to my body and sleeping. It wins over any other ideas I may have. Can't have caffeine so I just go with it. Again, my weight loss seems slow compared to others. 19 pounds in 3 weeks 3 days. Don't know if it is me or if that's the sleeve. I keep positive though because I'm just not eating enough to not lose weight.

I am encouraged by all the posts from everyone and appreciate this group. Thank you my buddies!

Hi Ladies. It is quiet here! I've been busy putting up the Christimas tree and decorating. It looks likes Christmas exploded in my kitchen as I still have boxes sitting in the floor and decorations scattered all over the table and countertops. I'm a little overwhelmed with what to do with it all and will wait til tomorrow to figure it out I think.

As far as Thanksgiving eating- not so good. I did fine at the actual dinner, but then I usually do because I'm usually more tired than hungry by then. It's later when all that food is around and I'm alone with it the problems occur. I'm ready for it to all be out of the house and it is almost gone. However I do have a deterrent right now-I'm afraid to eat anything too rich or fatty because of the gallstone problem. I do NOT want to have a bad gallbaldder attack before my surgery and end up having emergency surgery.

Kathy, I think you are doing great with your weight loss. It's not even been 3 months yet and you've lost a lot more than you could have on any diet, excluding the 40+ lbs lost pre-surgery.
I like the new picture and I see your ticker number is climbing! Good job.

Patrece, you are a very strong woman and I greatly admire your strength and courage. Not everyone could deal with your situation as it seems you have been able to. The love you feel for your husband is obvious in your postings.

Well, I'm feeling tired and sleepy and will be getting off here for the night but I'll be back. I'm very thankful to have found this site and my new friends!

Good night,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, true, it is quieter here on the weekends.  We make it what it is, thanks for adding your comments.  True, never could lose weight at this rate with any other diet.  Thank you.  I need to have it pointed out to me every once in a while too.  Hubby putting up the Christmas tree this evening, boxes multiplied like rabbits as the minutes go by.  Frustrating to see all the clutter from the boxes, that will be better tomorrow.  Take care, hugs, Kathy

Yep Naomi, I agree with Kathy. Your body needs rest to heal and recover, so it is insisting upon it. Also you have to remember you are basically in a state of starvation right now, and your body has to adjust to that as well. Just rest when your body needs it and really make sure you are getting in the protein liquids and vitamins. If this doesn't improve very soon, or is very worrisome, call your surgeons office and speak with the surgeon or the nurse for reassurance.

Rhonda...
Thanks so much for your kind words. I do love him very much, but it isn't always easy. I do the best I can, and take a nap when I need a recharge!

I am glad you found us too! Get some rest, and good luck with the decorating tomorrow. I need to get it in gear with that too, but ohhh man it is a lot like work! LOL
