Old cravings

I am 2.5 weeks post op and have been doing fine. However, today it seemd like nothing would go down and I had to throw up my only meat meal. I am desprately craving a PBJ sandwich. Does anyone else have craviings?

Don't worry, I wouldn't even try a PBJ...but I would like to dream about it.

I think now and then we all get a hankering for an old favorite... but luckily it isn't too often for me, and usually I am strong enough to resist...usually. (hey no ones perfect right?)

What you may consider, as a one time special treat is using a 1/4 of a flour tortilla, 1 tsp peanut butter (reduiced fat) and some sugar free jelly. Just don't allow this very often at all... as it could really trigger cravings. Also, I do not think you are to the point of eating this yet are you? or are you on solids? All docs have different protocols.

at 2.5 weeks I am not even eating veggies yet. Thursday will be my 3 week anniversary and I can add soft vegetables to my meat. I bought some zucchini. I really like it and it isn't gassy

Are u just able to have plain peanut butter?  That may help reduce the craving.

Keep the faith

I would add a little peanut butter to one of your protein shakes, or even just a taste of peanut butter straight off the super small spoon.  If you do this, make sure that you whole mouth gets the joy of the taste, roll the peanut butter around your mouth with your tongue.  Savor the taste.  I have a little peanut butter most days.  Take care as you introduce new foods, eat them slowly.  Hugs, Kathy
